Okay, I've been considering the following scenario. Tell me if i have all the rules right (Grappling rules have always confused me a bit)
A snake is hiding in a tree (Medium Constrictor), and falls on the character. Suprise round, the snake bites a character, succeeds, and uses Improved Grab to immediatly start a grapple check. If that is successful, grappling ensues.
Now, while grappling, the snake cannot make use of its bite attack (as it is using it to bite the PC), but it may attempt to pin for additional damage, and every time the PC tries to make a grapple check to escape he takes 1d3+4 damage? Or is it only when the snake tries to grapple to deal damage? Does the snake deal 1d3+4 even if the snake is only using part of its anatomy to pin the creature (taking the -20 penalty w/o feats), or did they take that rule out in the revision? If an (awakened) snake wielding a tail sword (described in savage species) is using only part of its anatomy to pin, can it make its regular number of attacks with the tail sword (against another enemy, presumably)?
And Natural Weapons cannot be combined with regular weapons, right?

I'm pretty sure Constrict's text says "whenever (critter) makes a successful grapple check" or something similar.

Also, since snakes constrict with their bodies (like the middle of it) and not their actual tail (which is only the last 6 to 8 or so inches of the snake for a smaller one, probably more for a Medium-sized one), I'd say a Medium-sized snake would be perfectly capable of using a tail-sword and constricting at the same time. I'm not sure what the actual rule on that is, though.
