| Beware of Kobold07-03-04, 01:46 AM | can constructs use magic items (ones that only need to be worn or wielded to be used) just like a regular living creature? For instance could some permanently animate an object and give it some magic items like gloves of dexterity to beef it up a little? |
| Bloodtide_the_Red07-03-04, 03:49 AM | Yes, as creatures constructs can use magical items. There are two points though....... One-A construct would gain nothing from an items that uses a type of magic they are immune to, or otherwise uneffected by. They could not use a ring of regeneration, for example. Two-Only intelligent constructs can activate items. So, in general, they can only use use activated items, that simply function all the time. BT |

I made a construct with the flame ability (lots of flaming swords and such) and it could trigger itself into becoming a giant flame construct by saying a word, sort of like a human torch kind of deal. but getting back on topic, yeah constructs can use enhancing items, like gloves of dex +2, but they cannot use magical items with a trigger unless the construct is taught how to use it. |
