| blackknight5k10-14-05, 07:38 PM | A few years ago, when legions came out, I tried to convert slivers over to dnd. I probably did a horrible job, concidering I was a first time DM. So, I was wondering if anyone has converted slivers over to dnd stats, if not I guess I could take another shot at it. |
| syrinth10-14-05, 08:00 PM | Man that would rock, I was planning to do that at some time but I'd forgotten lol.... |
| blackknight5k10-14-05, 08:55 PM | Here are some things I thought of while I was running some errands. Mystform sliver - gives all slivers the ability to polymorph at will 3/day Winged sliver - gives all slivers a fly speed of 20 (good) Plated sliver - either gives all slivers toughness, or gives them DR...not sure which one to go with Blade sliver - gives all slivers +1 attack +1 damage Muscle sliver - gives all slivers +4 str +4 con shifting sliver - this one is alittle tricky, i was either going to have them all get blur, OR give them all improved feint, a sneak attack 1d6, and a + something bonus to bluff Those are just some ideas to go with. They would be an area effect, like all slivers in some sort of radius of that sliver. |
| blackknight5k10-15-05, 10:50 AM | :bump: I need some help here... |
| Realms of Chaos10-15-05, 11:42 AM | This is the same thing that I gave to someone else that struggled with the same problem. I've played magic and have a decent grasp of Slivers so I'll give you some advice. First, start with a family of abberations. Then, give them hivemind like those formians have. Lastly, give each of them a special ability corresponding to the card that affects all other slivers within 100 feet or more. Here are some examples muscle sliver gives the others a +2 enhancement bonus to strength plated sliver gives a +2 enhancement to natural armor clot sliver gives others regeneration 2 that can be passed with acid or fire Mindwhip slivers allow others to deal 1 point of temporary intelligence damage with each attack mnuemonic sliver grants a +2 enhancement bonus to intellegence Winged slivers give others a fly speed of 30 ft. Horned slivers give other slivers a gore attack that deals 1d10 damage+their strength modifier. Crystaline slivers give other slivers concealment (20%miss chance) as it shifts their outlines Barbed slivers grant other slivers a +2 bonus on attack rolls and the benefits of the power attack feat. Heart slivers give other slivers the benefits of the improved initiative feat. In addition, the other slivers can reroll their initiative once per encounter. Armor Slivers grant other slivers the benefits of the combat expertise feat. In addition, the other slivers get DR 5/- Talon slivers make is so the natural weapons of all other slivers in range are treated as keen weapons. The effect of the acidic sliver is that whenever one within range dies, they explode in a 10 ft. radius, dealing 2d6 acid damage to all within the radius (Reflex DC15 half). In addition, all slivers in range gain immunity to acid. Hibernation slivers allow other slivers to go on without sleep indefinitely and become immune to magical forms of sleep. Spined slivers cover all other slivers in range with spines, allowing them to deal 1d6 extra damage with each successful attack or grapple check. Victual sliver effect should be that whenever another sliver is killed within its range, all other slivers within its range recover life equal to the killed sliver's HDx5. They may not gain extra life in this way. Whenever a sliver in an Essence Sliver's range deals damage with a natural attack, they gain that much life. Ward slivers give each other sliver in range the benefits of energy immunity vs. a random type of energy (differs from ward sliver to ward sliver). Any sliver within the range of a mistform sliver should be able to use disguise self at will and receive a +5 competence bonus to disguise checks. Shifting slivers allow other slivers within their range to become incorpereal or corpereal as a move action. Synapse slivers grant other slivers a +2 enhancement bonus to wisdom. Spectral slivers give others the ability to use false life and true strike once per day. Toxin slivers allow others to deliver poison with their natural attacks (DC 18 Initial and secondary damage 1d6 con). Brood slivers can spew out 1 crystalline sliver, 1d4 muscle slivers, or 1d6 plated slivers three times per day. Quick slivers give others an enhancement bonus of 10 ft. to all forms of movement. Sliver Overlord can spew any type of sliver once per day. In addition, it has complete control over all slivers except the sliver queen. Sliver Queens can spew any type of sliver except sliver overlords once per round as a standard action. Some things like magma slivers and crypt slivers are pretty near impossable but I did my best and hope you can work with it. Later. |
| Lyinginbedmon10-15-05, 11:53 AM | Well, here's the base model that the Slivers will likely follow, simply add and subtract to suit the individual version. I'd suggest something like a 1-mile radius for the abilities to be shared. Sliver [Base] Medium Aberration (Sliver) Hit Dice: 4d8+4 (22 HP) Initiative: +2 (+2 Dex) Speed: 30 ft. Armor Class: 15 (+2 Dex, +3 Natural), touch 12, flat-footed 13 Base Attack/Grapple: +3/+3 Attack: Bite (1d6+0), Claw (1d4+0), Tail (1d6+0) Full Attack: Bite (1d6+0), 2 Claw (1d4+0), Tail (1d6+0) Space/Reach: 5 ft./5 ft. Special Attacks: Special Qualities: Hive Mind Saves: Fort +2, Ref +3, Will +5 Abilities: Str 10, Dex 15, Con 13, Int 9, Wis 12, Cha 14 Skills: Climb +3, Jump +3, Survival +2 Feats: Combat Reflexes, Track Environment: Any temperate Organization: Any Challenge Rating: Treasure: None Alignment: Chaotic Neutral Level Adjustment: – Combat Hive Mind (Ex): All Slivers within 50 miles of their Queen are in constant communication. If one is aware of a particular danger, they all are. If one in a group is not flatfooted, none of them are. No sliver in a group is considered flanked unless all of them are. |
| blackknight5k10-15-05, 12:16 PM | looks good, but the only thing i see is that i wasn't going to use a sliver queen right yet. In my setting, the slivers are going to be created by a thay like group of wizards for fighting (who also have created warforged). So, I would like for them to be "controled" somewhat by humans. I don't have a problem w/ statting a sliver queen, but i wouldn't use it in my setting. |
| Kessalin Talira10-15-05, 01:07 PM | These (http://www.enworld.org/showthread.php?t=126954&page=1&pp=40) are the ones that I'll most likely use, eventually. There are a few things I'll change, but for the most part I really like these. |
| Thrasher10-15-05, 02:05 PM | shoot stat out the queen please. i will use it. I inteneded to use something like an Alien hive for my eberron campain. :) |

| Tainted Mage10-15-05, 02:58 PM | Just remember, that many sliver abilities shouldn't stack or add further boosts. ;) Especially those oldies. |
| Lyinginbedmon10-15-05, 03:11 PM | I agree, I much prefer to make my own creatures as opposed to using 3rd-party creations because that way they fit perfectly and seamlessly into my own campaign, as opposed to someone elses |
| The Weave0510-15-05, 03:42 PM | I have actually tried this once, but came to a calculating problem (of all things). Think of it like this, if all the slivers' "shared" abilities stack, then if you got enough together you can tear apart a group of moderate level adventurers in seconds. I pitted my party against a mere CR 1/2 basic sliver, but as the rest of the hive responded to the attack, they piled up so many effects onto the little sliver that it became untouchable, along with the rest of the slivers. It was a TPK for a group of level 8's and I couldn't fix it because I couldn't think of a decent way to create a CR calculation. For you see, my plan was that each ability would add a bonus to the effected sliver(s), but it was too many numbers for me to handle (the CR had to be differant for every certain amount of HD the effected sliver(s) had). So be careful when using the slivers against your party... it could end up in a massacre. JUst try to find a way to get around the whole CR system and your fine. I could not, but maybe you can, and I'll be very excited to see what you've created :) . |
| Lyinginbedmon10-15-05, 03:48 PM | I think that was the idea of the Slivers in the first place :P |
