Hello,

I have created what is basically a medium-sized kobold with the following differences:

STR 17, Dex 13, Con 11, Int 10, Wis 10, Cha 14
Proficient: added heavy mace.
Speed: 30

All the rest is exactly the same as the normal kobold. The stats took 30 points to create using the non-standard point-buy system, which falls between a high-powered campaign and a tough-campaign.

I have made the base creature a CR 1 without any level adjustment. Does this seem fair?

Thanks,

the point buy system is just for character creation, not for monster creation, for monster creation the creator just assignes the "average" ability scores for a member of that species.

as creature with those stats it is the same as having the racial ability ajustments of gets +6 strength, +2 Dexterity and +4 Charisma, which would lend a level adjustment of at least +1, maybe even +2

as a 1 HD humaniod, it would have CR by character class, but I would be inclined to give it a minimum CR of 1 with those stat adjustements, at least if it has the warrior NPC class.

Thanks for the info... I'll go with a CR1 abd a lvl Adj +1.

No racial penalties, waaay not balanced with no LA.

+6 Strength, +4 Charisma, and +2 Dexterity is enough to merit a +2 level adjustment, or a +1 with a couple racial HD. Either way, CR should be at least 2.

Okay, so you believe a Lvl adj and a CR of +2. Is there any guidelines on CR adjustments out here?

Thanks,
