CR for an Advanced Hieracosphinx [Archive] - Wizards Community

For my homebrew, I've developed a creature that will effectively be the god / creature of worship / whatever of an Avian race. Essentially what I've done is advanced a Heiracosphinx to 15 HD, and I'd like to ask a few things.

1) Are my calculations right? I'm not used to doing Advanced HD monsters at all, so this is what I've come up with.

2) What CR should this monster be? A Hieracosphinx is CR5, and this version is +6HD.

Please bear in mind that this creature is created using 3rd edition advancement rules, because I don't have a 3.5 monster manual. Sorry if that confuses matters, but not a lot I can do about it until my next paycheck comes in.

Ukku, God of the Avians

HD: 15d10+18 (101hp)
Init: +6 (Dex)
Speed: 30ft, fly 90ft (poor)
AC: 18 (-1 size, +1 dex, +11 natural)
Attacks: Bite +15 melee, 2 claws +10 melee
Damage: Bite 1d10+9, claw 1d6+6
F/R: 5 x 10 / 5
Special attacks: Pounce, rake 1d6+6
Saves: Fort +13, Ref +10, Will +7
Abilities: Str 29, Dex 12, Con 19, Int 6, Wis 15, Cha 10
Skills: Listen +16, Spot +17
Feats: Alertness, Flyby attack, Improved Initiative

04-02-05, 01:45 PM Well.. By 3.5 rules, the CR would be 8. I think at least (the size advancement being taken into account (+1), and then +6 HD for an adjustment of +1 per 3 additional HD). BTW, it should have three more feats (15 HD).
It's probably quite similar in 3.0.
You could always check out the online SRD (somewhere in my sig). The advancement rules are in there somewhere. :rolleyes:

And for some reason I didn't think of looking in the SRD. I guess I thought monster manual stuff was too, y'know, copyrighted to be ref'd.
