What is the CR increase for the ELITE ARRAY of stats and where can I find the rule?

Thanks in advance,

I don't know what the adjustment is on its own, but my guess is that it is about +0.5. If you slap a class level on, they get the elite array automatically, and that is going to be either +1 CR for a class that actually helps (ogre/ftr1) them or +0.5 CR for one that doesn't (ogre/wiz1).

Thats a start. I need the actual book/page official rule for a Living Greyhawk scenario I'm helping edit. Any ideas?

I looked at p. 294 of the MM, but I don't think it's there. It just mentions that Elite array is often used for adding class levels.

Emirikol, using the elite array of ability scores in and of itself does not increase CR.

What increases CR is adding PC class levels in an associated or non-associated PC class - and when doing this, they recommend you use the elite array of ability scores.

You can find this explained in detail in the SRD 3.5, under "Improving Monsters," specifically on the second-to-last page under "Advanced Monster Challenge Ratting." :)

Well your looking at the right page.

Now look to the upper right hand corner where that table is...
Notice what it says across from Monster's ability scores based on elite array.....+1 to CR. Note don't apply this +1 to CR if you are advancing the monster with Character classes, in that case the elite array is assumed so you just charge the CR of the class levels added.

Ah, thanks quaiven, I missed that. That's pretty interesting.

So basically, if all you do is use the elite array it's CR +1.

BUT... ignore that CR increase when adding class levels, bc class levels (whether or associated or not) add CR based on how many classes you add. And like I said, when added classes you use the elite array.
