Craft Construct? [Archive] - Wizards Community

03-09-06, 09:27 PM does anyone know if there is some template or program or anything on creating custom constructs. my gm is using full transperency for psionics and i took create construct but i found that the only thing i could make is a psion killer. because of full transperency i can make non psionic constructs, so id like to find some.

03-09-06, 10:16 PM Well, first place to start is the Monster Manuals, the base monster manual has Stone, Iron, Clay, and Flesh Golems, plus the Shield Guardian. The Flesh Golem is the easiest of those to build, only requiring Caster level 7. The other 2 monster manuals and the Fiend Folio all contain various types of golems, with the caster level to make them hovering around 15. Most splat books now include at least one type of construct, and that can range anywhere from CL7 to CL20 to produce.

Finally, if you're low level, the March Dragon magazine has several new Golem types, most of which are CL5 to make. They're less powerful than the book golems (they advertized as "Automatons for Amatures") but have some interesting abilities.

03-10-06, 10:16 AM I don't have my books handy, but I seem to recall a template in one of the Books of Eldritch Might that you can apply to animals and some magical beasts to get a new construct.

Also, Mongoose Publishing has a book, Constructs, that I have and it is loaded with construct construction rules.

Both the BoEM material and Constructs were published under 3.0 rules. The BoEM has probably been updated to 3.5 but I'm not sure about Constructs.

03-10-06, 10:48 AM Craft Construct also allows you to make effigys( from CA ) as well as homunculus. There are several different versions of homuncului<sp?> in Eberron material in addition to the one in the MM.\

03-10-06, 11:42 AM OP, are you referring to the spell requirements? For example a clay golem requires animate object, commune, and ressurection and I don't believe Psions have access to those.

My guess is that you would have to resort to use magic device to qualify.

03-12-06, 08:15 AM you can go into www.crystalkeep.com and they have all the constructs listed by name and what books you can use to find out the information on them. i'm running a campaign and my BBEG is an articifer/construct mass manufacturer and i found this VERY useful
