In the monster manual it states that the market price for increases by 5,000 gp for every hit die added. Would that price increase fall by half for creating the golem? Also, what causes this price increase? For the clay golem, it is stated that rare oils and powders worth at least 1500 gp are added to the clay. If the increase comes simply from adding more of those, making more of the oils and powders yourself could help to lower the cost more. Or is it simply that a better craft check is needed to make a better golem? I can see wizards having a problem making a good craft pottery or schulpture check. And if that's the case, what would the higher crafting DC be to improve a gollem?

And for my final question, what's with the 50000gp increase in size? At most it should be 8x more than the 5000gp level gain, not 10x.
