Creative Dragon types - Where are they? [Archive] - Wizards Community

09-20-04, 12:32 AM Which book (if any) has all those crazy variant dragons in it (you know, wacky metals and oddball colors) for 3.5?

Also I have an added (dumb) question. If a new metal (or color I suppose) is made, IIRC wasn't there a being that made a new dragon (WAY long time ago, so will need to be updated). I suppose that I should include gems and stones, but I don't remember that being included in my (admittedly fuzzy) general recollection.

09-20-04, 12:51 AM To the best of my knowledge ther are no 3.5 Gem Dragons.

They where in the Monster Manual II for 3.0.

Mist, Steel, and.. I can't remember the other ones, but there where a bunch of ones that where posted in the WotC website.

09-20-04, 04:52 AM Do a Google search for "Inzeladun" where the DM has five ferrous dragons (iron, chromium, nickel, cobalt, tungsten) of the three moral alignments. They came out as 2e, and they've been updated to 3.e, if not 3.5e already. The yellow, orange, and magenta/purple 2e dragons from Dragon magazine have not been updated. Note that this yellow ain't the yellow dragon of the Forgotten Realms.

I've seen a site for stuff like marble dragons, granite dragons, etc. but can't recall. Maybe Googling will help.

Anyway, I have 17 - count 'em, 17 - dragons under wraps, some of which I've posted earlier, but which I'm updating to 3.5, free time allowing.

And I hope they'll never be. Because I want the Yellow Dragon from the AD&D2 MM. The one that breathed scorching sand and air. The three "color wheel" dragons from the mag were a bit lame, if I say so myself -- and I do.

09-20-04, 08:24 PM Well, a lot of metals and colors could be covered by simple crossbreeding. And I mean within groups. Metallics with metallics, chromatics with chromatics, gems with gems. Couldn't get a good theme for the Planars, and I haven't the faintest idea with Faerunian and Lung dragons.
