Creatures and Spells Question [Archive] - Wizards Community

01-28-04, 07:11 PM Here is a really simple:

If a creatures discription states.......

"casts wizard spells as a wizard equevlent to his hit dice"

Does that mean the creature can take levels as say a fighter nad never a wizard but still be able to cast spells?

01-28-04, 08:16 PM yes, but his spell casting ability would not increase with for the fighter levels taken, it would be based upon the creatures racial HD+any wizard class levels taken.

01-29-04, 05:40 PM So this means that a creature with this ability can take levels in non-arcane classes and still know/cast the same amount of spells as a wizard with the same amount of levels as it has hit dice.

Way cool ability.

01-29-04, 06:30 PM only its base HD... the additional HD from the non-wizard character classes would not increase its spell casting ability.
