Spectral children have semi-transparent pale flesh, whispy white hair, large dark eyes, a flowing shadowy cape, and appear to blur and overlap solid objects.

Spectral children are the undead forms of human children with strong wills and senses of self, risen from the grave and empowered by negative energy. Clinging to some treasured object from their life, they wander the world of the living.
Kindergeists usually result from children who died lonely and neglected, charged with an undying desire to endure. Many are bitter, irrational and selfish, magnifying the immature vices they possessed in life. Some take the aspects of child-like innocence instead.
Although Specral children form from a supernaturally tranformed body, they are less solid than most corporeal undead, andd are able to peirce through armor and fly through walls. They can be mistaken for incorporeal undead by a casual observer.

Spectral children speak common.

Combat: Spectral Children furiously rip away with their claws, going for the weakest opponent first. When reduced to less than half their maximum HP they usually flee crying.

Rend Life(su): A spectral child that hits with both claw attacks deals 1d12 negative energy damage to the creature.

Spectral Claws(su): A spectral child's claw attacks are treated as ghost touch weapons.

Frightful Presence(ex): Whenever a spectral child does something threatening such as scream, attack, or reveal its true form, opponents of 2hd or less (besides other spectral children) must make a will save dc:11 or become shaken. Creatures of 1hd or less become frightened.

Shadowy Form(su): A spectral child can pass through 4 inches of wood, thatch, or clay, 2 inches of stone, 1 inch of non-lead metal, or a window or door (without holly hung over it) as a full-round action. Due to it's quasi-corporeal body it gets continual 1/4th concealment and DR3/magic.

Mask of Shadows(su): A spectral child with 1/2 concealment or more can automatically make itself appear to be an ordinary living child, gaining a +6 enhancement bonus to its disguise check.

Childish Mind: A spectral child lacks the normal undead immunity to fear effects.

Photophobia: Spectral children fear the light as living children fear the dark. A spectral child is continually shaken when in a radius of bright light (such as a daylight spell), and will go out of their way to avoid light and light sources in general.

Locate Possession(su): Every spectral child has some treasured object from their former life, a toy, a book, or a blanket, that it values above all else and clings to. Should they become seperated from it, they can find it again as if by a locate object spell.

Turning Scream(su): The magical energy of diety's power creates a wave of soul-wrenching infantile terror in a spectral child. Whenever successfully turned or rebuked they release a peircing, spirit-skewering scream in a 60ft cone facing the person turning/rebuking them. This scream deals 1d12 sonic subdual damage and 2 temporary charisma damage, reflex save dc15 for half. If they are destroyed or controlled, the scream deals lethal sonic damage and permanent charisma drain.

Creepy. Have you played Ghosthunter? What these things really need is the ability to summon a fiersome creature in the form of a favorite childhood toy. Imagine players having to kill a spectral teddy bear that's bigger than they are...

I haven't played ghosthunter. I guess the ability would probably create a tiny sized animated object version of the toy in question.

Or perhaps there's a table to decide a favorite toy, and a creature that corresponds to each toy.

For example:
Summon Toy (Su): Each spectral child may summon a giant, living spectral version of the toy or object that it may locate with its locate object ability. If the object is with the spectral child, when summoned the object itself seems to come to life. To randomly determine a favorite object, roll 1d6 and consult the table below.
1 Stuffed Animal. The child summons a mighty spectral teddy bear (incorporeal Dire Bear; other stuffed animals are possible).
2 Book. The child summons a huge spectral book (Large incorporeal Crocodile without claw attacks or swim speed).
3 Ball. The child summons an enormous spectral ball (incorporeal Juggernaut without slam attacks or spell-like abilities).
4 Blocks. The child summons innumerable spectral building blocks (incorporeal Scarab Beetle swarm).
5 Puzzle. The child summons a gigantic spectral jigsaw puzzle (incorporeal Bat swarm that may assemble into an incorporeal Quetzocuatlus).
6 Blanket. The child summons an enormous flapping blanket (incorporeal Titanic Dire Bat with improved grab and Constrict attacks).
Treat all toys as constructs and all attacks as ghost touch weapons; other toys are possible. If someone else holds the real object that the kindergiest is attached to (the real building block, book, teddy bear, ect.), they may make an opposed Charisma check against the spectral child each round to take and retain control of the object.

This may raise the CR a bit.

(ahem) That's awesome:) I like the idea of toy summoning. What if the child is used in a modern game and he/she likes toy soldiers?
