| Heo178006-30-06, 09:17 PM | Hey, I need to find a Creature to put into a dungeon for 5-6th level PCs that just, plain, creepy. Something to make your skin crawl and be truely frightened by its presence. Any suggestions about what book to look in, or just post a creature/link. Thanks I've already tried the Libris Mortem and Book of Vile Darkness |

Maybe one of them is right for you. :) Rhythmic Devourer (http://boards1.wizards.com/showthread.php?t=601122) Scuttling Terror (http://boards1.wizards.com/showthread.php?t=620672) Canibal Spirit (http://boards1.wizards.com/showthread.php?t=612501) |

Now I realise that some may find this monster a bit esoteric for most campaigns, but it can be a clever alternitive to the traditional threats. For example: say your party is being rather puckish and is holding up the whole story, mention a visit from the testicle ripper will usually silence smart-ass upstarts. This monster is completly adjustable for those of the non-testicular persuasion, persay the labia slasher? While it may pose no serious threat, most players value their genitals enough to discipline them enough to keep them within your Player-to-DM guidelines. |

I don't know CRs, but MMIV is going to have the wrackspawn (which creeps me out just from seeing the art) and the plague walker (the third illustration in the little ad). However, many people are refusing to use/buy the MMIV...:( It's way too powerful, but the creepiest D&D monster that I know of is the fiendwurm of the MMII. It is an enormous mutated earthworm...except that it looks nothing like an earthworm, and something like an awesome-thing. It has a portal to the Abyss in its stomach, and can not only swallow victims into the Abyss, but can also belch out Vrocks and other demons to fight with it. :twitch: Creepy... *shudders* |
