Critter CR [Archive] - Wizards Community

03-19-04, 06:53 PM got a question for anyone who can help. I'm an avid critter creater for my campaigns. the problem is that i'm not sure how to assign CRs to my creations and i don't want to screw my players in any way. any help to be found?

Take the monster. Take another monster with a reasonable CR. Pit them against each other and see who wins. Repeat with a different monster of a different CR.

The best way is to choose an estimate and then playtest it against a standard party of 4, 1 Ftr, 1 Rog, 1 Wiz, 1 Clr.
