| Prof Yeti02-24-06, 10:25 AM | Well I have somewhat of a disagreement with my DM's ruling on a subject and would like your (Denizen of the Boards) input. But let me say that although I don't agree with the ruling it is the one we will be using for our game. I just wanted to see how others saw the matter, for possible future use in my own campaign. (Basically to see if I was just completely off the mark.) My character took Improved Familiar and after waiting a couple of levels has called a Leopard as his familiar. (Figuring it was pretty close to a Worg as per Complete Warrior.) Now I am looking to have some magic items made but things are not looking good. Rather than carry foodstuffs for the Leopard I thought to have a Collar of Sustenance made and was informed that since the Body Affinity doesn't match it would 150% normal cost. Then I was thinking to have a speed enchantment (a la Horseshoes of Speed) added but was told the enchantments would be 150% or base for the stacked enchantment. (With the base being 150% normal for the item since the Body Affinity again doesn't match.) But my problem is this.... The Leopard can't use most items as they are written and only seems to have 1 Body Slot period. It just doesn't seem fair to be hit with the 'Body Slot Affinity' when he isn't a Humanoid to use things as per the books. Any input either way would be appreciated. |
