| tryco12-15-05, 09:07 AM | are there any creatures from the cthulhu mythos that you can play in dnd. like cthulhu himself. what are their statistics |
| babysamurai12-15-05, 09:10 AM | Cthulhu and his buddies statisitics can be found in the d20 Call of Cthulhu book. |
| CzarGarrett12-15-05, 09:38 AM | Many abberations from D&D could be used in a Cthulhu mythos game. Mind Flayers, Aboleth, Gibbering Mouther, psuedonatural template. Stuff like that. |
| tryco12-15-05, 10:13 AM | Cthulhu and his buddies statisitics can be found in the d20 Call of Cthulhu book. Yeh, but cthulhu himself isn't in the book. I think i will get "d20 call of cthulhu" sometime. |
| Spike_Fightwicky12-15-05, 11:22 AM | Yeh, but cthulhu himself isn't in the book. I think i will get "d20 call of cthulhu" sometime. Actually, Cthulhu IS in the book. He's in the "Using CoC in D&D" section I believe. He's a CR 35 (though now I think they'd give him a Divine Rank or two). They statted out most of the bigwigs of Lovecraftian lore. For the old ones (that I can remember off the top of my head), they have stats for: -Azathoth -Cthulhu -Shub-Nigurath -Hastur -Yog-Sothoth -Father Dagon and Mother Hydra -That elephant god dude that pretends to be a museum statue -Nyarlathotep and a couple of others. They also have a slew of various other Cthulhu type minions (Shoggoths, Hounds of Tindalos, Flying Polyps, et al....) In D&D, CzarGarrett pretty much covered the Monstrous Manual creatures that fit the bill. |

There's also a web-enhancement with Ygolnac (sp?) somewhere on the WotC site. |
| Spike_Fightwicky12-15-05, 11:29 AM | There's also a web-enhancement with Ygolnac (sp?) somewhere on the WotC site. Is there? Thanks! I'm definately going to check that out. Is there an actual section on the Wizards page for CoC d20? |
| Wilds12-15-05, 11:38 AM | No, the contract for CoC D20 ended a while ago. And the right belong to some other company. |
| tryco12-15-05, 11:46 AM | Chaosium and WotC should talk with each other. It isn't fun that the one has all the copyrights and fans of the others can't use them because of diffrent rules. Why don't share the copyrights |
| Spike_Fightwicky12-15-05, 11:50 AM | No, the contract for CoC D20 ended a while ago. And the right belong to some other company. That's a shame. I was very much impressed with the CoC d20 book. BTW, the other company that owns the CoC rights is Chaosium. |
| babysamurai12-15-05, 11:56 AM | That's a shame. I was very much impressed with the CoC d20 book. BTW, the other company that owns the CoC rights is Chaosium. Yeah, that's totally lame. There used to be a web enhancement on the WotC site, but it's been permanently removed. |
| Wilds12-15-05, 12:16 PM | I was rather irced when i found out that there was a license lease and when the leace ended CoC dissipeared, prolly screwed the game over too |
| tryco12-16-05, 04:00 PM | just a question I read an article about how to get CoC into your DnD campaign. it's said something about sanity checks. but where can I find them. I don't have "D20 Call of Cthulhu" book, so that isn't going to help me. |

You'll find it here (http://www.d20srd.org/srd/variant/campaigns/sanity.htm). |
| Raymond_Luxury_Yacht12-16-05, 09:55 PM | I was rather irced when i found out that there was a license lease and when the leace ended CoC dissipeared, prolly screwed the game over too CoC is still around. Chaosium just doesn't print it in d20 anymore due to truly dismal sales. |
| tryco12-17-05, 04:27 AM | why doesn't Chaosium give the prints to WotC. If they advertise it I i'm sure it would sell beter. |

It's been a while since I looked at the book, but I do believe that the God-like entites of the Mythos actually use a rough form of divine rank in their stats. Not in actual numbers (DR 3, 6, or whatever) but their abilities are modified by status in a manner similar to that of DR. |
| obrysii12-17-05, 10:39 AM | My Tadasi (http://boards.wizards.com/showthread.php?t=396861) is based pretty heavily on Cthulhu, and it wouldn't be much of a stretch to change him around enough to make him that sleeping leviathan. |
| Raymond_Luxury_Yacht12-17-05, 05:18 PM | why doesn't Chaosium give the prints to WotC. If they advertise it I i'm sure it would sell beter. It was heavily advertised, probably more than any d20 supplement ever. It still sold horribly. WotC was the company that was selling it, anyways. Had it sold well, they probably would have renewed the contract. |
| tryco12-18-05, 02:44 PM | can anybody give me the statistics of cthulhu, as it stands in "d20 call of cthulhu" And where can i buy the book on internet, as cheap as possible. |
