If you have a weak stomach, I request that you do not continue.

Through childhood, these creatures look and act like a member of the host-mother's species. It is when they mature that they reveal their true nature. Until this point, they most likely have no idea of their true nature.

In a matter of minutes, their skin turns green, their fingernails lengthen into long claws, their teeth turn sharp and they grow a short tail if they don't already have one. They still superficially look like a member of the host-mother's species. They then develop an unnatural hunger that they can satiate only by eating a member of the host-mother's species. (Usually the host mother). If they do not within 24 hours of transforming, then they lose their unnatural hunger and do not develop a bloodlust, but this is quite rare. If they do find a victim, they develop a taste for them, often going out of their way to hunt down one of these creatures.

They are called the "Cuckoos Parasite" because of how they can relate to the bird with its strong instincts and habit of replacing another's young with its own.

The Template:

The Cuckoos Parasite template can be applied to any small, medium, or large creature or animal that gives birth to live young.

Stat changes:

Before they transform, Cuckoos parasites gain +2 to charisma. After the change, they lose the charisma bonus and instead gain +4 Strength, +2 Dex, +2 Con, and -4 Cha.

The following are all gained after the transformation:

They gain Darkvision 60 if they don't already have it, otherwise their vision does not improve.

They gain Alertness as a bonus feat.

They gain a climb speed of 20.

They get +4 on Move Silently checks.

Unnatural Bloodlust (SQ): A Cuckoos Parasite is built to be able to kill a member of its host mother's family. If it eats a member of its host mother's species, it develops a taste for members of that species. When in combat against a member of the host-mother's species, a Cuckoos Parasite gets a +3 bonus on Attack, Damage, AC, and saves against it. If in the presence of a member of the host-mother's species, it has a massive compulsion to kill it. It must make a DC 13 Will save to resist going crazy and attacking recklessly. It must make a check every one minute, with the DC going up by 2 every two minutes.

Weapon Proficiency:The Cuckoos Parasite is proficient with no weapons except its natural claw attack. It's natural Claw attack does damage relative to size (1d4 small, 1d6 medium, 1d8 large).

Alignment: Always Neutral Evil.

Challenge rating and LA: +2
W/ Unnatural Bloodlust +3

Does that sound about right? or do I need more?

Um, yeah, MAYBE...

Dammit, when I looked at the thread I thought it'd be something about the Cuckoo from Sandman.
