| RayneShadowleaf07-21-06, 03:37 AM | In case you couldn't guess from the title, I'm a fox fan or fox nut as you prefer and I was curiously wondering if there were stats for a fox creature/animal in any of the D&D books? And if said fox does exist can it be an animal companion? And if said fox does not exist can it be created using the stats for a wolf and if so can that fox then in turn be used as an animal companion? Sincerely, Curious Fox http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y2/RayneShadowleaf/ninfox.gif |
| Rerecros07-21-06, 03:52 AM | Wolves are medium, foxes are small, use dog stats for a fox. |
| taski07-21-06, 03:53 AM | You could use the dog's stats for a fox, but give the fox some hide and move silently like the wolf. I would let a fox be an animal companion, but you should ask your DM (unless you are the DM, in which case there's nothing stopping you). |
| KingGolem07-21-06, 03:58 AM | I have an even better idea! Why not instead of using the dog stats, why not use these fox stats I found somewhere? Fox Tiny Animal Hit Dice: 1d8+1 (5 hp) Initiative: +2 (Dex) Speed: 30 ft (6 squares) AC: 14 (+2 size, +2 Dex) Attacks: Bite +4 melee Damage: Bite 1d3-1 Face/Reach: 2½'x2½'/0' Special Qualities: Scent Saves: Fort +3, Ref +4, Will +1 Abilities: Str 6, Dex 15, Con 13, Int 2, Wis 12, Cha 6 Skills: Hide +10, Listen +5, Move Silently +6, Spot +5 Feats: Weapon Finesse (bite) Climate/Terrain: Temperate forest and hills Organization: Solitary, pair, or family (3-5) Challenge Rating: ¼ Treasure: None Alignment: Always neutral Advancement: 2 HD (Tiny) Skills: Foxes have a +4 racial bonus to Move Silently checks. A fox familiar gives its master a +2 to Move Silently checks. And one more thing. Don't you ever use the word "foxly" in a sentence again, or I'll start stealing the bricks from your house. |
| RayneShadowleaf07-21-06, 04:07 AM | Tiny? since when did a fox become a tiny animal? Granted foxes are not medium sized animals such as wolfs (damn wolves) but they certainly aren't tiny. Also my house does not have bricks and I can say foxly if I want....it's my word *three nods*http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y2/RayneShadowleaf/ninfox.gif |
| Sikyanakotik07-21-06, 04:15 AM | Tiny? since when did a fox become a tiny animal? Granted foxes are not medium sized animals such as wolfs (damn wolves) but they certainly aren't tiny.[/IMG] Most species of fox are about the same size as a housecat, which is also Tiny. |
| Branto07-21-06, 04:15 AM | And if said fox does not exist can it be created using the stats for a wolf and if so can that fox then in turn be used as an animal companion? Well, I don't see one in the SRD anywhere.. but the fact that you would consider 'using the stats for a wolf' for a fox makes me wonder just how much of a 'fox fan' you really are.. Wolves are predators that hunt in packs, and are known for their stamina. Foxes are solitary scavengers, specifically known for being very nimble and cat-like. So compared to the wolf stats.. the fox would have higher stealth skill bonusses and Dex attributes (Maybe also higher Cha), with lower Str and Con, and no special combat abilities. (the biggest thing they hunt might be some rabbits) |

| Xyl07-21-06, 08:21 AM | Frostburn has stats for arctic foxes (p.165). Adapting it for another climate would just be a matter of switching the terrain on its racial Hide bonus. |
| RayneShadowleaf07-21-06, 02:03 PM | Frostburn has stats for arctic foxes (p.165). Adapting it for another climate would just be a matter of switching the terrain on its racial Hide bonus. | Decree Of Boredom07-21-06, 02:59 PM | Favored Enemy: Furries Improved Favored Enemy feat Furry-Bane weapon Foe (Furry) Hunter PrC Anything else we need here? Furry Dread, not furry bane. |
| Shaggy_Shaggs07-21-06, 03:03 PM | I'm not familiar with the Dread enhancement, but hey, if it hurts more, I'm all for it. |
| Decree Of Boredom07-21-06, 03:04 PM | It's basically an epic bane. Extra +4 enhancement and +4d6 damage, and a save-or-die. |
| Shaggy_Shaggs07-21-06, 03:06 PM | Sweeeeet. :plotting: Come to think of it, I need an Elf Subrace-Dread weapon too... |
| Shemeska the Marauder07-21-06, 08:16 PM | God damn it, Furry Friday is only on 4chan. *snicker* |
| The Ubbergeek07-21-06, 09:03 PM | Hey, Shemeska can be counted as a furry.. :P Guys, do not be hating. Beside, it's an anime foxgirl, not a fox anthro. So bah, and let's return to the matter at hands. |
| Decree Of Boredom07-21-06, 10:14 PM | Hey, Shemeska can be counted as a furry.. :P But the difference is, no one faps to 'loths. |
| Esponer07-21-06, 10:33 PM | If I was not posting on webforums whose members I'm slightly worried will one day eat me alive due to their disapproval at something I said, I would simply post: This is the best topic EVER. As I am posting on webforums whose members I'm slightly worried will one day eat me alive due to their disapproval at something I said, this post is somewhat longer. Apologies, and please do not eat me alive. Remember: foxes don't eat people. |
| Kresalak07-21-06, 10:42 PM | But the difference is, no one faps to 'loths. Correction, no one sane does. Foxes don't eat people. People eat people. Soylent Green is people! |
| Decree Of Boredom07-21-06, 10:53 PM | Correction, no one sane does. Nuh-uh, and I'll prove it. I'll invoke rule 34 on yugoloths over at 4chan, and see if I get anything. EDIT: And here (http://dat.4chan.org/b/res/10572702.html). Just as a warning, the linked to site is pretty much as NSFW as possible. Also, it can kill you with its brain. |
| Kresalak07-21-06, 11:05 PM | All I saw from the link itself was the ultroloth from MM III. So I stand by my statement-all three of them. And I don't know what either 4chan or rule 34 are. |
| Decree Of Boredom07-21-06, 11:14 PM | Then whatever you do, don't go there. Basically, the lack of anyone besides the ultroloth proves that there is no such thing as an arcanoloth of negotiable affection. |
| AngelDust Anderson07-21-06, 11:29 PM | Sweet thank you...and for your help you all get a foxgirl *le sigh* http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y2/RayneShadowleaf/foxgirl2.jpg Aw, Cute. *Puts away bayonets* I like this topic! | Shemeska the Marauder07-21-06, 11:33 PM | This is the best topic EVER. Oh Christ yes, if only for the combination of 4chan and yugoloths. *laughing* Basically, the lack of anyone besides the ultroloth proves that there is no such thing as an arcanoloth of negotiable affection. I suppose I skirt the boundary of taste in my 1st storyhour then, because such is certainly implied and alluded to on one occasion. But of course it's intended to be disturbing given the context. |

| RayneShadowleaf07-22-06, 01:44 AM | Also can anyone please post the stats for the Artic Fox from the Frostburn book page 165 if I recall. Thank you, Curious Foxhttp://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y2/RayneShadowleaf/ninfox.gif |

| RayneShadowleaf07-22-06, 02:26 AM | Yeah, that's pretty much it. However, still can't reprint the fox, it isn't OGL. What's OGL? |
| AngelDust Anderson07-22-06, 02:42 AM | ~_~; *twitch* You're just mad cause I put fox ears on you and called you cute No one ever calls the 6"4' Paladin with lots of knives cute, wonder why? Well unless I get Chibified -Anderson |
| Fireclave07-22-06, 03:53 AM | What's OGL?OGL = Open Game License In short, it's the stuff that WoTC has declared legal and free to use, quote, and redistribute. Everything in the SRD is under the OGL, but anything that's not included in the SRD (such as the stats for a creature in one of the supplement books, the artic fox for example) is not. And according to the rule of conduct for these boards, you can't post such information verbatim. Sorry for being the stick in the mud :( |
| The Ubbergeek07-22-06, 12:11 PM | -double post- :embarrass |

| Millennium07-22-06, 12:42 PM | This thread is getting foxing ridiculous :D |
| Kresalak07-22-06, 02:54 PM | It's funny though. Soylent Green is still people! |
| Decree Of Boredom07-22-06, 03:20 PM | Some peoples are childish there... 'Furries! DO NOT WANT!' :embarrass Childish, yes. Wrong, no. |
| The Ubbergeek07-22-06, 04:45 PM | Childish, yes. Wrong, no. Franly, rpgers have as much right to mock furries as furries to mock them... There is a thread here and another at RPG.net who show some messed up examples of creepy gamers. So, I find ironic that gamers (or otaku) rave on furries... |
| RayneShadowleaf07-23-06, 02:14 AM | I don't know why everyone hates furries so...they're so cute...especially the cowgirl. @_@ *drool* http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y2/RayneShadowleaf/715hp_t.jpg |

Eh, seriously though, while fanboys of any subject get a little hard to bear when they get hyperactive, I got nothing against furries and those that'd play 'em. Good luck on your race-creation thing, and check out the Feature Points thread if you haven't already. Could help a lot with coming up with a properly balanced race. |

| RayneShadowleaf07-23-06, 11:32 AM | This thread is proof that you can kill the Tarrasque without a Wish/Miracle spell. XD Yeah, recruit a gold dragon and have him help you beat the Tarrasque's ***. Or go get the mother foxing Juggernaut and he'll be all like, "Oh it's the Juggernaut b****...yeah gonna beat the s*** outta you. |
| Vanigo07-23-06, 04:41 PM | Yeah, recruit a gold dragon and have him help you beat the Tarrasque's ***. That only works if the gold dragon knows wish. |

Or go get the mother foxing Juggernaut and he'll be all like, "Oh it's the Juggernaut b****...yeah gonna beat the s*** outta you. No, the Tarrasque would just kill himself after reading the thread. There's only enough room for one rampaging natural disaster, and he just doesn't have enough HD to live up to this masterpiece. |
| Kresalak07-23-06, 09:56 PM | In soviet Russia, Foxes like YOU! In America, women can vote, but horse fox cannot! It is other way around in my country. Alright players, the answer again is "it is a small mammal that physically resembles a canine. Adam, what was your response?" *Looks* "Laefwodahs Enyar?" *Zaap* "Only saying his name backwards can send him back to the 5th dimension where he belongs." |
| Sikyanakotik07-23-06, 10:26 PM | You know, Rayne, perhaps posting softcore pornography in a thread isn't a particularly smart thing to do. I know it's a tradition in fantasy gaming, but it's still pretty tacky. Besides, moogles love to watch. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v402/Sikyanakotik/sikdoll.jpg |
| Kresalak07-23-06, 10:34 PM | One more thing-Rayne, those pictures? Them's ain't furries. |
| Insane Pixie07-23-06, 11:52 PM | This thread is made of win and awesome. |
| RayneShadowleaf07-24-06, 01:34 AM | Please I see worse on the children's network not to mention the Discovery channel....hehe.. *remembers song* "You and me baby ain't nothing but mammals so lets do it like they do on the discovery channel." Okay so they aren't true furries they're anthro's but most people classify them with furries and you try finding a true furry cowgirl....man it's tough And also..as for the voting thing http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y2/RayneShadowleaf/1153511162586.jpg |

| Khelvaster07-24-06, 10:44 AM | What the **** is the problem with everybody in this thread? Someone with Frostburn should just post the freaking arctic fox stats and get this thing locked before it blinds anyone. I do not want to see ****ing foxgirls running around on the D&D boards. Put the foxgirls on a social board thread for foxgirls (or make a thread for foxgirls if there are none). The D&D boards are not for bringing out fetishes. If someone has a thing for bdsm, nymphos, or even *shudders* horses, you don't seriously expect them to post pictures, even anime ones, of them on here. Go to a GGX2 board and post about dizzy if you need to let people know about foxgirls, but for the love of god, not here. |

Just because you don't like them doesn't mean they can't be considered ligitamate fantasy creatures for a D&D world, and not "fettish" material. :P Although I do agree that the picture posting is getting out of hand. If you people are going to post kitsune-mimi or neko-mimi pictures, make them fantasy based, tactful examples of what a D&D based person would look like. -.- |
| ZinFeir07-24-06, 02:24 PM | Its a small creature so its perfect for a werecreature. |
| Insane Pixie07-24-06, 02:58 PM | Does the acronym "OGL" mean anything to you? If it doesn't, let me give you a brief lesson: You just posted something straight out of a non-OGL book, which is illegal. I highly reccommend you delete it ASAP. |
| ZinFeir07-24-06, 04:08 PM | Posting something like that out of the book isn't any different than going to the book store and reading its entery. I've also seen people copying the entery onto a note card. Atleast I didn't say go to Limewire to download it or something. |
| Insane Pixie07-24-06, 04:50 PM | Posting something like that out of the book isn't any different than going to the book store and reading its entery. Yes, but that is legal. Violating the OGL can get your face sued. |
| ZinFeir07-24-06, 09:37 PM | So the person who asked has a better chance of finding the info they need by driving to the local book store and writing the info on a card, its on page 165. |
| RayneShadowleaf07-24-06, 10:34 PM | Yes, but that is legal. Violating the OGL can get your face sued. More like banned from the forums and their posts deleted...internet is far to large and unstable to really find and sue someone....not to mention they'd probably settle verses going to court over something most juries would find trivial. Also the settlement would probably involve just a small fine or a written statement of appology and a sworn statement to never do it again under penalty of a larger fine/incarceration |
| ZeronHitaro07-24-06, 11:30 PM | Ahem, to steer this topic back on track. Foxes/ Kitsune-mimis would fit in some D&D settings. They're a little more fantastical (meaning they require a greater stretch of the imagination) than say...elves. But I think this particular (and tactful) picture can imitate what a D&D Kitsune-mimi would look like. http://i73.photobucket.com/albums/i231/Reaver21/animefoxfoxmod.jpg Also from the web comic D&Dorks (with some modding on my part to cover up the human ear), is a great example of how to incorportate one into your campaign: http://i73.photobucket.com/albums/i231/Reaver21/602mod-1.jpg |
| Kresalak07-25-06, 12:50 AM | Apparantly, in the image labelled "Uh-oh" in your photobucket, the fox-girl in the picture is about to be eaten by one of those shield eating monsters from The Legend of Zelda. |
| ZeronHitaro07-25-06, 01:39 AM | Apparantly, in the image labelled "Uh-oh" in your photobucket, the fox-girl in the picture is about to be eaten by one of those shield eating monsters from The Legend of Zelda. :D That particular picture happened to be something I had a friend comission for me based off ideas of Plant-type traps. (As opposed to normal traps, like pit traps and such forth). She likes fox girls perhaps even more so than I. >.<; So that's what the character base was used for. Quite honestly though I can see fox girls being believable in the D&D world. Example: Foxes that have been blessed by a forest god have the ability to shapeshift into humanoid form that looks human sans the fox ears and tail. |
| RayneShadowleaf07-25-06, 02:17 AM | Actually I'm already working on Anthro races with the first being the foxgirls/foxboys and then catgirls/catboys I've already decided to use most the stats for elfs for foxgirls with the magically abilities that foxgirls almost always posses or perhaps I'll allow her to to posses more hand to hand combat abilities like the monk but with magical abilities. |
| Myst_the_Moonscout07-25-06, 02:45 AM | Staying away from the anime/furry debate, there are some Foxes running around in third party stuff. Sword and Sorcery has an irritating little bugger called Tannil's Fox, an uber speedy thing, and the Ravenloft Gazzetter (either volume 1 or 2) has the silver fox. It also has stats for the werefox (girls only) which also appears in the 2e Monstous Manual if I'm not mistaken. I've heard it rumoured that the kitsune exist in the Oriental Adventures setting, but if they don't I believe that someone on the boards has done up some stats for them but that was a while back. Maybe check the "Races Compendium" stickied in the Races forum. |
| Kresalak07-25-06, 02:55 AM | We already have Catfolk, actually. Miniatures Handbook and Races of the Wild. Also, the Races board is filled with various animal people. Mostly cat people. Overwhelming amounts of cat people. There must be one for every user... |

| feralfox07-25-06, 11:46 AM | There are stats in Dragon magazine #291 for foxes and dire foxes, which they say supercede all other fox stats (including the stats posted earlier). |
| Shaggy_Shaggs07-25-06, 11:57 AM | That right there was illegal, feralfox. |
| Count Arioch the 28th07-25-06, 12:18 PM | you try finding a true furry cowgirl....man it's tough[/IMG] Try playing WoW, you might find a few. http://i35.photobucket.com/albums/d160/ZantiRocks/cow.jpg And if you find one first, see if she has any friends. :smirk: |
| Dracomortis07-26-06, 12:10 PM | Hopefully I can settle this raging flux of anthro furry races once and for all: Savage Species has a template for creating anthropomorphic creatures. It also has pre-made stats of all the animals in the Monster Manual turned anthro. |
| Count Arioch the 28th07-26-06, 12:16 PM | It's also pretty frelled, and doesn't let you be low LA versions of said anthro being. (For example, an anthro horse is much weaker than an anthro pony, for whatever reason.) |
| RayneShadowleaf07-26-06, 02:24 PM | Yes but it's not as good as making your own cause then it's origional ^^ |
| AngelDust Anderson07-26-06, 05:26 PM | Yes but it's not as good as making your own cause then it's origional ^^ Indeed -Anderson |
| Kresalak07-26-06, 07:33 PM | Yes but it's not as good as making your own cause then it's origional ^^ And probably won't suck as much. |
| RayneShadowleaf07-27-06, 01:33 AM | Hehe, true dat my fellow animal girl lovers |
| RayneShadowleaf08-02-06, 10:17 PM | Crap I'm stuck...I can't figure out how to make my fox race (aka foxgirl) I don't even know where to begin My idea is for a hand to hand combat specialist kind of like the monk with some spell casting abilities centering mostly around fire and/or illusion since those are the traits most anime fox demons/foxgirls posses |
| Insane Pixie08-02-06, 10:24 PM | My idea is for a hand to hand combat specialist kind of like the monk with some spell casting abilities centering mostly around fire and/or illusion since those are the traits most anime fox demons/foxgirls posses That's a class, not a race. What you're talking about their is an Astetic monk, or some kind of Monk/Wu Jen. For the race, just use Catfolk. Claws, bites, a Dexterity bonus... not much different between them and foxes. |
| The Vorpal Tribble08-02-06, 10:42 PM | Whistles a little tune (http://www.worth1000.com/galleries.asp?rel=Bestiality&display=photoshop&id=8316)... Anyways, honestly, furry fanatics got issues. |
| RayneShadowleaf08-02-06, 10:48 PM | That's a class, not a race. What you're talking about their is an Astetic monk, or some kind of Monk/Wu Jen. For the race, just use Catfolk. Claws, bites, a Dexterity bonus... not much different between them and foxes. No I meant something like anthro foxes get +2 racial saves against spells from the school of illusion as well as any spell with a fire damage effect. or Anthro foxes get a +2 racial bonus against an opponent's DC save against spells of the school of illusion/spells with fire damage effects due to the foxgirl's natural prowless with fire/illusion spells as a racial bonus a foxgirl gains improved unarmed strike and weapon finesse (unarmed strike only) something like that |
| Alpha_Moose08-02-06, 11:21 PM | I'm afraid to click that link from the Vorpal Tribble (from star trek?) |
| The Vorpal Tribble08-02-06, 11:58 PM | I'm afraid to click that link from the Vorpal Tribble Naw, its perfectly clean and actually pretty cool. Basically it is to a website devoted to high skill photoshop contests. The link is to the winners of several contests where you tried to blend humans and animals. (from star trek?) The Tribble part anyways. |
| Kresalak08-03-06, 12:24 AM | I wish I could use Photoshop like that. I never did get the reason why everyone hates furries. +2 save vs. illusion spells, bonus to Cha, penalty to Str, bonus to a couple skills... I don't think they should get either feat for free, although you could give them a couple 1d4 claws. |
| Shaggy_Shaggs08-03-06, 12:37 AM | I never did get the reason why everyone hates furries. I think it's just that the obnoxious few that obsess and never shut up about it leave a bad impression of the whole lot of them, for most people. There are parallels to be drawn, but as some of the parallels live and thrive on the wotc boards, I think I'll avoid the flamewar and leave it be. Katanas. |
| AngelDust Anderson08-03-06, 04:24 AM | Here are the stats for a catgirl template I made a long time ago Cat Girl is a template that can be applied to any female humanoid (herby referred to as the base creature). A Cat Girl uses the base creatures statistics except as noted here. Size and Type: Unchanged AC: A Cat Girl has a +2 luck bonus to AC Attacks and Damage: A Cat Girl gains a pair of claw attacks equal to a short sword of her size (medium 1d6/19-20x2). Unlike most natural weapons the Cat Girl gains extra attacks for her claws based on her BAB. Special Attacks: A Cat Girl retains the special Attacks of the base creature and gains the following special attacks Pounce (Ex): A Cat Girl may make a full attack on a charge as long as she only uses her claws. Cute Eyes (Ex): Charm Person permanently, 30 ft, Will DC 10+Cha Modifier Negates. This is a gaze attack and follows the rules for one. Special Qualities: A Cat Girl retains the special qualities of the base creature and gains the following special qualities Happy Aura (Ex): A Cat Girl raises the spirits of all around her. Allies within 20ft of a Cat Girl than can see or hear her gain a +1 moral bonus to attacks, damage and saves as well as a +4 moral bonus against fear effects Lowlight Vision (Ex): A Cat Girl can see twice as far as a human in lowlight or if the base creature already had lowlight vision three times as far. Abilities: A Cat Girl gains +4 to Dex and +6 to Charisma Skills: Cat Girls have a +4 racial bonus to Jump, Hide, Move Silently, Listen and Balance checks. In addition they are treated as if they had 5 ranks in Balance whenever it would be beneficial. Feats: A Cat Girl gains the Weapon Finesse, Force of Personality and Dodge as bonus feats Alignment: Changes to Chaotic Good. Unlike most alignment changes this does not affect class abilities ect. Challenge Rating: As Base Creature +?? Effective Character level: As Base Creature +?? I would be easy to modify to make a fox-girl template Fox Girl is a template that can be applied to any female humanoid (herby referred to as the base creature). | Kresalak08-03-06, 02:25 PM | Templates that don't take away your Con score should never change your Hit Die. Natural attacks never have crit ranges past 20x2 unless the creature possesses the Augmented Critical ability. A medium creature's claws do 1d4, not 1d6. They should not get extra attacks with the claws based on BAB. Alignment shouldn't be changed to CG-make that "Usually Chaotic Good", or "Always Chaotic Good", but I don't believe in Always alignments for intelligent creatures. LA looks like +2 or +3. As for fox-girl, it has all the same problems as the first one, plus the Foxfire ability should not be an attack action, but rather a standard action. Also state how many times per day it can be used. |
| AngelDust Anderson08-03-06, 05:27 PM | Sorry I was remembering the stats I made off the top of my head. -Anderson |
