| Timespike02-19-08, 12:45 AM | So one of my players is playing a good-aligned vampire. Right now I have it ruled that he can only sustain himself off of other undead that have to feed on the blood or flesh of mortals or he'll turn evil and become an NPC. He'd like to eventually earn the ability to feed off of any evil bastard rather than just the undead ones, so I'm trying to come up with a template I can add onto his vampirism. I was thinking of something like this: Sin-Eater Vampire Sin-Eater Vampire is an acquired template that can be added to any vampire scion, vampire spawn, vampire, or dread vampire that has a good alignment. Armor Class: A sin-eater vampire gains a +1 sacred bonus to its armor class Virtue's Blessing: Healing spells cast on a sin-eater vampire by good clerics who intend to heal him work as they would on a living being. Healing spells cast with hostile intent affect the vampire as usual. Gaze upon the sun of blood: Sin-eater vampires gain the sunlight endurance feat if they don't already possess it. In addition, the sin-eater vampire may be under the sun while it is red in the sky (roughly half an hour after sunrise and the last half-hour of sunset) with no ill effects. Merciful feeding: victims of the sin-eater vampire's bite attack lose consciousness while the sin-eater is feeding rather than experiencing the sensation of bleeding to death. Restorative touch: a sin-eater vampire may "absorb" negative levels bestowed by other undead creatures from living being with a successful will save (DC equals 10 + 1/2 other undead's hit dice) Soothing mist: living creatures with a good alignment in the same square as a sin-eater vampire's mist form gain fast healing 1 for as long as they remain in the same square as the vampire's mist form Children of the twilight: the sin-eater vampire applies the celestial template to all creatures called by its children of the night ability Virtuous Dominance: Orders given to innocent creatures with half or less HD than the sin-eater vampire (GM's discretion) with the intention of preserving their safety are automatically obeyed (no save). An example would be telling a frightened crowd to clear out of an area in the path of an incoming natural disaster or the tarrasque, etc. This ability only functions to preserve innocent life. The vampire retains its normal domination ability if it posesses it. Turn immunity: Sin-Eater vampires cannot be turned. They may still be rebuked or dominated. What would be a fair ECL adjustment for this? How about CR? |

(Vampire scion & dread vampire are the low & high ends of the vampiric power spectrum; both are from Green Ronin) I'm looking for a cool thing to give him as a late-game reward. |
