D&D Vhozd? [Archive] - Wizards Community

03-14-08, 12:24 PM Okay, question asked for a truely vile DM I know whose english lack, and who want to run a darker Ravenloft module, modified.

Is there something in D&D akin to the Vampire: The Masquerad's Vhozd? For the ones who don't know, it's a semi-legendary creation of the messed-up Tzimisce clan, horrifying 'war ghouls' - huge mass of jointed ghouls, clawing, bitting, rending anything in it's path. Is there a monster who have something akin to this disturbing necromantic creation?

03-14-08, 01:11 PM Dragon Magazine #334 had the Humbaba, a Large-sized undead construct made up of dozens of squirming bodies. The basic CR 15 creature had spell-like abilities, rock-throwing, could absorb not only your weapon but you (!) into it's body, and could even "fall apart" if threatened with destruction.

There appear to be back issues still available, as well as PDFs. (http://paizo.com/dragon/products/issues/2005/v5748btpy7ya0)

I seem to recall some other big, "multi-corpse" undead in a few other issues. Time to paw through the library.

03-14-08, 03:47 PM There is an undead monster in MM2, forget the name, but it's gargantuan sized and made up of undead, grave dirt and gravestones. This thing can grapple victims and push them into their body, where they are attacked by the undead there. If destroyed, the creatures breaks down into its component undead (about 100 zombies, IIRCC) and keep on moving.
