Pwdre Sers are mysterious, massize oozes who dwell at the upper reaches of the atmosphere, as the durable slime that makes up their body is far lighter than air. Their oozish bodies have a prism effect, splitting the light into a rainbow array, which the Pwdre Sers use to attract, and then blind, their victims. As the Pwdre Sers can only reproduce by infecting other creatures with a disease lying dormant in their oozy body, Rot of the Stars, they must attract other beings–usually birds and flying magical animals–and infect them to survive as a species.

Rot of the Stars (Su)
A creature hit by a Pwdre Ser’s slam or constrict attack must make a DC 35 Fort save or be infected with the magical disease known as Rot of the Stars (incubation period 1d2 days, damage 1d6 Con and 1d6 Wis). Damage is dealt each day until the afflicted creature succeeds on three consecutive Fortitude saves, the disease is cured magically, or the creature dies. The save DC is Constitution-based. If a creature is reduced to 0 Con by Rot of the Stars, its body becomes a fertile breeding ground for Pwdre Sers, which reproduce via the disease. 2d8 days after the creature’s death, 1d4 small-sized Pwdre Sers, each with 1 HD, emerge from it. The soon grow to full-size Pwdre Sers, a process taking 2d4 weeks. If the gentle repose spell is cast on the creature’s body, or if it is resurrected, the developing Pwdre Sers are destroyed.

Constrict (Ex)
A Pwdre Ser deals automatic slam damage with a successful grapple check. In addition, the opponent must save or contract Rot of the Stars.

Improved Grab (Ex)
To use this ability, a Pwdre Ser must hit with its slam attack. It can then attempt to start a grapple as a free action without provoking an attack of opportunity. If it wins the grapple check, it establishes a hold and can constrict.

Blinding Blast (Ex)
A Pwdre Ser can use its refractive properties to fire a beam of blinding light. As a standard action, a Pwdre Ser can fire off a beam of light, a ray with a range of 60 ft. Any creature struck by the ray must make a DC 35 Fort save or be blinded for 1 round. The save is Con based.
