| The Vorpal Tribble12-28-05, 05:32 PM | I'm working on an unusual NPC where one of the abilities is to be able to add special groundcovers to their Summon list such as Snowflake Lichen from Frostburn. I know I've read about others, like special mosses and alge or whatnot such as you find underground... but I'm thinking it may have been 2nd ed. Anyone know of anything like this? Things that are not so much monsters as living obstacles. |
| The Vorpal Tribble12-28-05, 06:09 PM | Never mind, found them in page 76 of the DMG. |
| cwslyclgh12-28-05, 06:09 PM | well there are the yellow and brown molds and green slime from the DMG. I see you found them. |
| Raymond_Luxury_Yacht12-28-05, 06:45 PM | Well, 2e had Obliviax, the Memory Moss, which is updated to 3.0 in the Tome of Horrors, Olive Slime, which turned you into a zombie of sorts, also updated in the ToH, Flareaters, intelligent, light-eating green slimes, Sonic and Chromatic Mold, which killed you, and I don't remember how, seeing as how I have misplaced the book they were in. Then there was the Carapace, but that's more of a creature than a hazard. |
| The Vorpal Tribble12-28-05, 08:51 PM | ToH? |
| Raymond_Luxury_Yacht12-29-05, 05:14 AM | ToH? Tome of Horrors, put out by Necromancer Games. |
| ubernex12-29-05, 05:45 AM | Add in the Yellow Musk Creeper, a couple of aquatic oozes and bloodthorn as nasty ground coveringings from Fiend Folio, and the old Planescape favorite, Razorvine, brought back in the Planar Handbook (sidebar page 146) I like this idea Vorpal. |
| The Vorpal Tribble12-29-05, 11:03 AM | Add in the Yellow Musk Creeper, a couple of aquatic oozes and bloodthorn as nasty ground coveringings from Fiend Folio Hrmmm, except they move about, have natural attacks, etc... and the old Planescape favorite, Razorvine, brought back in the Planar Handbook (sidebar page 146) One of the books I don't have but do want... does it give a challenge rating? I like this idea Vorpal. Thanks. I just finished the PrC. If interested heres a link to it: The Lichenfriend (http://boards1.wizards.com/showthread.php?t=560126) (Consider the PrC a PEACH  ) Bet alot of folks will look at it an immediately come to the conclusion that its a PrC for the undead  |
