Darkvision vs Shadow [Archive] - Wizards Community

I have a difficulty I am hoping you can solve. And by you I mean all of you. Shadows are hard to see in gloom and invisible in pure darkness. What if the group relys totally on Darkvision when adventuring underground. The have no light but can see. Is the Shadow invisible to them? How will it look if it isn't?

06-20-03, 03:51 PM Darkvision works just like normal vision but it is black and white... the Shadow would be dificult but not immosssible for them to see.

06-28-03, 09:47 PM Well there are 2 ways of working this. If shadows are black and murky "shadows" then they would stand out as a big black patch to someone with darkvision. (imagine a human sized black spot on a black and white photo)
Or you could use it like the shadow template's ability in which it kind of turns invisible in darkness 50% miss chance.
