| Black Jack Davey08-09-04, 12:22 AM | This is my second monster. I would welcome any help and/or input on this creature. I'm sure the main concern will be it's CR. I have it at one because of the Brute Emissary's low AC, Dexterity, Intelligence, and Wisdom. Also they are very slow. If you do not agree with this please say so and explain why. Thanks again. And now, without further delay, it's the: Brute Emissary of Syn Large Outsider (Evil, Law) Hit Dice: 4d8+12 (30) Initiative: -3 (-3 DEX) Speed: 20ft AC: 9 (-1 Size, -3 DEX, +3 Natural) Attacks: Claw +8 Damage: Claw 1d6+5 Space/Reach: 5ft/10ft Special Attacks: N/A Special Qualities: Darkvision 60ft, immunity to fire and poison, resistance to cold 10 and acid 10, see in darkness Saves: Fort +7, Ref +1, Will +1 Abilities: STR 21, DEX 5, CON 17, INT 5, WIS 5, CHA 10 Skills: Intimidate +13, Jump +12, Climb +12 Feats: Power Attack Climate/Terrain: Any land or underground Organization: Solitary, or Pair (with 1 Diplomat Emissary of Syn) Challenge Rating: 2 Treasure: None Alignment: Always Lawful Evil Advancement: --- Before you, standing just behind the diplomat emissary, is a true monster. It stands on two legs like a man, but the top of it’s beast-like head is nearly nine feet off the ground. It’s massive arms, along with the rest of it’s body, seem to be made of pure muscle. It’s leathery skin is a deep red lightened by a hint of gray. It stares at you hungrily, and drool can be seen forming around it’s lips, but seems to mean you no harm…at least not until the diplomat emissary commands it. The Brute Emissaries of Syn were created to be bodyguards for the smaller, weaker diplomat emissaries. Although they are exceedingly stupid (or perhaps because of it), brute emissaries are unquestioningly loyal to their master. They treat any command from one of the diplomat emissaries as though it came from the mouth of Syn himself. Brute Emissaries of Syn speak Infernal, but are creatures of very few words. Combat Brute Emissaries of Syn usually stand at attention near the diplomat emissary in their charge. They do not attack unless commanded to, but will defend themselves if provoked (unless they are commanded not to). When in combat, brute emissaries attack the enemy closest to them, trying to do the most damage possible. The Diplomat Emissary will be coming soon. I'm going to try to finish it tonight. |
| Aranamarunda08-09-04, 03:10 AM | Here we go again :) Set hp avg to 30 If that AC is what you intend, so be it :) Change feat from power attack to multi attack Mention it has to slams, at highest bab, should read +4 bab, +5 str, -1 size, to explain (I guess?) Why slam? If it allready has claw? either change slam to a bite attack, use two slam attacks at highest bab (like above) and remove claw attacks, or remove them completely and hold only claw attacks. When only one type of attack, forget multi attack, and return power attack :) If you choose the bite attack, make it 1d8+2 (1/2 str mod). If you use the slam attack as main attack, make it 1d8+5 If you use the claw attack, make it 1d6+5 If you, indeed use one slam and one claw attack, still use multi attack, make slam primary, for a +8 and 1d8+5 damage, and claw secundary, +6 for 1d6+2. Maybe SR 10? If you use intimidate as a strentgh check, add 4 to check, taking 7 ranks for it, + str mod, that leaves 13 ranks to distribute. Maybe 7 in jump and 7 in climb, both also totals of 12. When str not the prim stat for intimidate, +7 total to Intimidate, unless you give them a racial bonus. I think that challenge rating can ATLEAST increase to two That was it, for now... See you around :) |
