| Battousai05-04-04, 02:36 PM | For the same reason there's no evil version of Blessed weapon? Or an evil holy sword? It would suck if good and evil spellcasters had exactly the same spells with altered names... well evil spellcasters DO have Crushing fist of spite :D |
| Kastas05-04-04, 04:16 PM | There's no evil version of Bless Weapon because it is a paladin-only spell, and there is no evil counterpart to the paladin in the PHB. There is, however, Align Weapon, which can be used by clerics to make a weapon either good or evil. And as a matter of fact, there are unholy weapons (check the DMG). Death Dragon is evilly aligned partly for flavor purposes, and partly because the spell replicates some effects typically used by evil characters (fear, inflict critical wounds). In my opinion, it would not be very difficult (or unbalancing) to make a good counterpart to the spell, although its effects would probably differ somewhat. |

Most good DMs will let you use created material as long as it's balanced. I've lowered all the LAs for dragons because they were made rather bad and my DMs all let me use changes. |

In the Book of Vile Darkness it is listed as "Distort Weapon" on pp. 92-93, a level 1 Blackguard spell (though the lists show it as "Corrupt Weapon", a level 1 Bard spell); and in the 3.5 DMG it is listed as "Corrupt Weapon" on pp. 182-183. |
