This is a template in the Monster Manual 2. However, the template gives them a damage reduction of 15/+1. I'm unfamiliar with 3.0 and how its different from 3.5 so could someone tell me how that should read for 3.5?

For some reason the 3.5 notes that you can download from the wizard's site don't say anything about this for the Death Knight...

The magic 8 ball says:

10/Magic.

DR 15/anything is incredibly powerful in 3.5, of course DR X/magic is mostly pointless anyway for something of a Death Knight's CR

To be fair, dr15/+1 is about as worthless at that point anyways...:P

The DR is only to make the death knight walk through normal humans without a scratch, then the legendary warriors with their glowing blades slice him ribbons. Much like dragons, except dragons normally do the ribboning.

Been a while since I read the template but I recall it being a skeletal like figure so why not Dr 10/Magic and Bludgeoning.

This is off subject, but this thread reminded me of something I read a while back suggesting that the lv adjustment for a PC Death Knight was supposed to change for 3.5. Is this true or is it still an adjustment of 5? I only ask because I've always liked these guys.

According to the update booklet Death Knights still have an LA of +5.

And a well deserved +5 at that. Their immunities, the undeadness, and some very handy combat powers make the bony warrior a fairly tough customer for a single combat. Now imagine if it were a PC. At least it isn't as high as the vampire template, and it's only one higher than the lich.

Where do I get this update? I haven't found the errata for MM2 yet. I am still very new to this though....

The update booklets can be found here (http://www.wizards.com/default.asp?x=dnd/dnd/20030718a).

I emailed CustServ about the DR, and recieved this response:The most recent incarnation of the Death Knight was in the Dragonlance Campaign Setting where its DR was listed as being 10 / magic

Dungeon magazine used DR 10/magic and slashing for their most recent Death Knight NPC, which provides a nice parallel for the lich's DR 10/magic and bludgeoning.
