Shaunboy 11-23-05, 04:47 PM	Ah.. crap.. No it wouldn't work. The target is "1 living creature" Are there any spells that would affect undead in such a way though? By deffinition a death attack is anything that kills automaticaly (acourding to the dictionary in PH) But the target of Death Ward has to be living. There must be an undead variant somewhere.
cwslyclgh 11-23-05, 05:02 PM	All spells that are death effects in the PHB have the [death] descriptor, undeath to death does not and thus is not a death effect. (Death Ward does not protect against "death attacks", it protects against death spells, magical death effects, energy drain and negative energy effects). I do not know of any spells like death ward that are specific to undead, mostly because they are immune to all of the things that death ward prtects against for the most part anyway.

But yeah I would have to call it and say that even a living creature would only be warded by spells with the death subtype. But spells that insta-kill undead are not nessesarily death spells. But there is nothing I know of that will protect undead from such. Except the spell Greater spell immunity. (if that is the right name)
