| dawnbringer12-22-06, 08:18 AM | Hey. I'm trying to advance the Deathbringer to 90 HD. Can I have some help with this? How often to undead get feats as they go up in HD? |
| Morwen12-22-06, 12:03 PM | All creatures (including both PCs and monsters) get feats for the following HD/Levels: 1st, 3rd, 6th, 9th, 12th, 15th, 18th, 21st, 24th, and so on. |
| spncrbrrtt12-27-06, 08:02 PM | It'd be awesome if you could poat the final stats for that badboy. I'm too lazy to advance unless its a special purpose. :P |

Then, add the following: For + 60 HD, add +30 BAB, +20 Fortitude, +20 Reflex, +32 Will, +20 Feats, +300 skill points with a maximum of 93 ranks in a class skill or 46 ranks in a cross-class skill, (or just add +60 to each of its skills: Intimidate, Jump, Listen, Move Silently, Spot) +15 stat bumps, +15 DC to Negative Burst and Trample special attacks, and +15 CR Remember that no creature recieves more than three iterative attacks, regardless of BAB, and that the skills listed in the creature's (revised, 3.5 compatable) stat block are its class skills. (As a house rule, you may also increase the creature's Caster Level for its Spell-like abilities by +1 for each +1 CR. For this creature that has no real mechanical effect. Also, as a house rule, you should not use Epic feats until the creature's CR is over 20; in this case, that means one of the creature's additional feats is not eligible for an Epic feat) This increases the creature's size two categories to Gargantuan, which requires the following adjustments to the existing stats: +16 to Strength (+8 to hit, +8 to primary weapon damage, +4 to secondary weapon damage, +8 to grapple, +8 to Trample DC, +12 to Trample damage, +8 to Jump) -2 to Dexterity (-1 to AC, -1 to Reflex saving throws, -1 to Move Silently) +7 to Natural Armor an additional -3 size modifier to AC and attacks (total -4) an extra to +8 Grapple checks (for a total Size modifier of +12) Increase Face to 20 ft. Increase Rach to 20 ft. Increase Slam damage two steps Increase Flail damage two steps (a total of three steps up from Medium flail damage) Increase Trample damage two steps +2 to CR (+1 for each size increase) For the stat increases (+15) I would strongly suggest sticking most or all of them into Dexterity, to qualify for the Perfect TWF Epic feat. For feats, Quicken Spell-Like ability is a must, since it has no ranks in Concentration. Aside from Perfect TWF, the Two-Weapon Rend Epic feat is a strong choice, as are Overwhelming Critical and Devestating Critical. The entire Combat Expertise tree is a good choice (Improved Trip & Improved Disarm are good with Flails, and great with a Gargantuan creature) and the Dodge/Mobility/Spring Attack route is an option with as many feats as you have to spare. Complete Warrior has a great many fun Tactical feats, and Libris Mortis has some good Undead-specific feats. Draconomicon has a feat that bypasses five points of Damage Reduction/Hardness, not a bad choice for a creature with Improved Sunder and buckets of BAB. The skill points can increase the creature's base skills, though spending ranks in Concentration and Use Magic Device, even at cross-class skill costs may be a good investment and open up more clever surprizes. |
