I know little about dragolichs, but I was wondering can they achieve, and have they achieved demilich status?

If so how powerfull would one be? Especially if it was a collosal red dragon.

Hmm... I think it's humanoids only (although I may be wrong) however, if you removed this restriction..

That'd be one nasty epic dragon.

One VERY nasty epic dragon.

The demilich template can be added to any lich...if the dracolich template counts as 1, then yes, a dragon can be made into one... And the end result is not pretty...

Least of all would be the ridiculous dc on its trap the soul ability...

Lets see...a great wyrm red dragon dracolich demilich...that's cr34...trap the soul base dc of 64...and that's just the icing on the cake...sounds very scary indeed...

Offhand, I think I do remember this sort of working, depending on exactly how you interpret it. Interestingly, I think that it even applied to the archliches (good liches) - they seem to be able to qualify for demilich, although I read somewhere that they're not meant to be able to.

A demilich requires at least 21 lvs of sorc, so any dragon must be epic(as per the epic progression rules for dragons), but yeah, that's one major beastie...

All that's left now is for someone with too much time on their hands to stat it out... :D

OH my god... 3.5 Dragotha's Lair anyone :D?

(Only revised so it's not an idiotic death trap?)

Please don't.

It, of course, would make a really nasty monser but having only a head kinda kills the dragon flaver.

Come on, head only?! Dragon?!

Meh it could still be a skeleton.

also we could make a fake bit of flavour saying due to its immense power, it can project a image of itself when it was alive.

and since dragons can turn humaniod it is possible.

There is a version of Dragotha in the May issue of Dungeon. We could just add the demilich template to him and see what we got :P New CR of 33..would be different. (Of course, the printed Dragotha is only caster level 17, so you would need to get those 4 other caster levels from advancing him or adding class levels)

As we speak I am creating the Demidracolich

He is done! :evillaugh Anyways, I decided to use the Dragons head as it was his most damaging attack, thus preserving some of his former glory, I also decided that since it was a touch the Demiliches touch attack can be combined, so I did.

you forgot that a demi lich no longer has a body therefor cannot perform tail sweeps and such.

Your ac should be +51 natural, +52 insight, rather than +105 natural.

Nicely done overall, haven't really gone into nitpicking mode yet... :P ...all's that really left now is to give it eq... :)
ChaosVirus

05-10-06, 08:35 AM
Yeah but since demidracoiches have not appeared before, the flavour can be twisted a bit to incorperate a body of sorts.

Definatley looks like cool stats though =)

Maybe allow it to use a negative energy touch attack equal to its number of attacks, like the silverwraith from COTSQ. Fear improved rapidstrike... :D

Muaha... muaha... MUAHAHAHAHAHAHA!

Well it definately looks impressive.

Immune to all magic and supernatural effects.

And an AC higher than any 43rd level character has a right to hit.

And that's BEFORE the beast dons all its magic items, say 10 +5 everdancing defending daggers for another 50 AC ?

Or something to incorperate its body so that even if you use the Natural 20 hits rule then there is a 50% miss chance :)

the possibilties are virtually limitless, but one thing's end you can definately see is that of any PC that tries to cross swords with this beast.

Cheers.

Looking back now, I remember thinking when seeing his HP drop from like 1130 or so to 338, "Dracolich so isn't worth it.", but after seeing what happens when you become a Demidracolich I see that it is pretty sweet, though I'd still choose Ascendant Dragon (I get to keep my body and my extra attacks!).

Also don't forget that he gets the benefits of magic items (Rings, Bracers, Circlets and such) if they are close enough to his phylactery

what book can I find an archlich?

No you cant make exceptions for the Demi DracoLich once a lich (of any kind) becomes a DemiLich he no longer has a need for his body. Period.
Kothardarastrix

05-10-06, 06:13 PM
Actually if you look I did indeed remove it from Special Attacks, I forgot about it when I erased the Special Attacks Description, Crush is left because the Demidracolich is still a TRUE Dragon, and crush is usable by huge dragons, bite is left at the Colossal+ damage listing because he IS a Colossal+ Dragons head

Are you using the ELH or SRD version of the demilich?

ELH... I didn't feel bothered to go with the SRD
