Demilich have harm at will... this mean that they are able to cure itself a lot of times ? or have limit of harms by day?

Eew...Yes, if they can Harm at will, then they can use it on themselves to effectively Heal to full health (3.5 seems to have put a max cap on Heal, but I forget what it is).

This is part of why it's Really, Really Hard to destroy a demilich.

Along with the DR 30/--, Magic Immunity, and Epic-level spellcasting, one can see why they're one of my favorite routes for EVIL, just for their durability.

Of course, my GM insists on using 3.5 Harm, with its "10 points per caster level" thing...but still, healing something like 150 hp every round can really tick off your enemies.

...If a Demilich has Magic Immunity, then wouldn't Harm fail, because it's affected by it?

Technically, yes, but I think it's implied that the magic immunity counts towards outside spells only.
Any spell cast by itself should automatically ignore its own immunity.

The demilich entry in the ELH even states that the creature uses harm upon itself to heal...

Luckily these creatures are limited by the intelligence of the DM ... we can never really give them the credit for whuping that they should really get.

You know all those sneaky ideas people have? Now imagine them multiplied by 1000, 'cause that's how many the demilich would have.

I betcha they're pretty paranoid.

Luckily these creatures are limited by the intelligence of the DM ...
Sadly, that holds true for every monster. Otherwise there would be more than just demi-liches to worry about out-smarting the party!

True. Some DMs have trouble with an older dragon's staggering intellect, much less a demilich. My current demilich has an intelligence of 50 (16+8 from level up+12 headband of intellect+2 lich+10 demilich+2 inherent).

My advice on this: It doesn't have to be complicated to be effective and seemingly brilliant. The hardest thing for me was setting up all of my lich's contingencies, which are laid out on separate sheets of notebook paper (some take up the front and back of an entire sheet).
