memorax 09-18-03, 10:54 PM	I just got the 3.5 monster manual and i was wondering it says that demons try not to summon other demons because it means the owe the summoned demon a favor. I went to read up on the summoning ability for devils and there is no such condition written. I remember in the previous 3.0. edition of the monster manual that both demon and devils both owned a summoned demon/devil a favor. Am i reading this wrong? or is it something they forgot to add in or leave out?
Tempus665 09-19-03, 03:49 AM	I think devils have a more clearly defined hierarchy. If a Pit Fiend summons a Cornugon, the Cornugon knows heīd better obey the Fiend, because the Fiend is obviously a lot higher on the social ladder. Demons, being the chaotics that they are, donīt have such a clear system, and thus even the higher-placed demons donīt like the idea of summoning other demons, because they feel they ow them something. Okay, this doesnīt make 100% sense, but at least itīs something ;)
Arilou_skiff 09-19-03, 03:51 AM	Yeah, summoned Devils are really employed by one of the Baatezu Ministries, and the devils owe *the Ministry* a favour, not the individual devil summoned.

memorax 09-19-03, 12:24 PM	That sound pretty realistic to me being that devils are lawful evil and more organized than the demons which (no pun intended) are a pretty chaotic bunch. Thank you for replying
