01-18-07, 05:55 PM my favourite devils are gelugons (Cold immunity and fire immunity go well together).

My favourite demon is Demogorgon.

I prefer Yugoloths to both.

01-18-07, 06:00 PM Yugoloth: Arcanaloth - the contract binders and historians of the Blood War and the iconic sorcerers of the lower planes. Have to love them.

Demon: Bulezau - Baphomet gets all the cool servitors. And the fact that Pale Night might have had a hand in creating them.

Devil: Erinyes - proving that seduction can occur by more than physical temptation. I don't care for their 3.5 incarnation that dumbed them down, stripped them of many non-combat abilities, and tried to foist them off as something with little resemblance beyond physical looks to their previous incarnations.

Demons: Molydeus - An enforcer and punisher demon. The dancing vorpal axe, and poison that can affect someone with a hero's feast are just too cool. Follow ups are wastriliths (Summon Monster IX and Symbol at CR 11), and Chasme (like the concept but hate the execution.

Devils: Horned Devil - A hulking devil that hits you with 20ft spiked chain that can stun. When diplomacy fails, send in the horned devils. I also like the new Paeliryon, powerful information brokers but not as strong as the pit fiend.

01-18-07, 10:08 PM I like demons better, mainly because you can get more variety out of them. The nine hells have one interconnected system, but in the abyss you can find anything.

Favorite demon: Vrock. Giant vulture that flenses you open with its metal claws and infects you with a wasting disease. Describe them right, and they are one of the scariest creatures in the MM 3.5

Favorite devil: Gelugion. I see them as being omnipresent, subversive fiends that you can never hide from, true supervillains. And then, once you actually track down the evil at its source, you still have a giant, supernatural insect that can freeze you to death to deal with.

01-18-07, 11:09 PM I'm denfinately more of a Demon fan over devils. Just because I tend toward the chaotic myself.

Favorite demon: Glabrezru-big, powerful, smart. Knows how to tempt, knows how to fight. The PCs don't realize that the "human wizard" they're working for is secretly a Glab in disguise.

Favorite Devil: Cornugon. Hate the spiked chain, but have always liked the old horn-heads.

01-18-07, 11:43 PM Devils are my favorite (LE tends to make good evil schemers) although Yugoloths are very underrated in my opinion.

Favorite Demon: pretty much any Obyrith. They're more closely tied to the primal forces of chaos than the Tanar'ri, they look creepier and they just ooze fear, great for any game with a horror atmosphere.

Yugoloth: Ultraloth. Incredibly powerful, cunning sadists with a hypnotic gaze :shocked:.

Devil: Ghargatula (sp?). It might not be as smart as other devils, and its illustration in the BoVD might stink, but giant baatezu that look like fiendish dinosaurs...well, there's no real justification, but I still think it's cool. :D

01-19-07, 12:04 AM Demons all the way, my fav being the Bebilith, can't get much more evil then them, plus they spider like, and spiders are always scary

Devils on the other hand, have to go with Pit fiend, they scream "bad ass" and nobody can deny it...

Devils: Gelugon (My favourite Lord of the Nine is Mephistopheles, and my favourite layer is Caina, so…).

Yugoloth: Ultraloth (I just love their oval heads and big eyes – very Spider Man).

The nine hells are sweet, but most of their lords are really too humanesque...Other than Bel, and Beelzebub, they are all very human. I can except Mephistopheles, but seriously...
I like the Daemons too, for the variables.
Favorite Demon other than the Demo-G, is the Molydeus
Favorite Devil: Gelugon
I love obiryths in general for the simple fact that they are seemingly chaos in a finite form :D

01-19-07, 05:35 PM Demaons, I love chaos, it suits me more. My favorite demon though is a quasit, it is small and mischevious, and it is pretty cool.

I also like the imp for devils. I do like the cunning aspect of the devils, but demons can be cunning too. I dont really like the plans that take 1,000 years and precise elements to accomplish.
