01-13-08, 11:36 PM Are dire bats large enough for a dwarven druid to mount? They don't have much in the way of a STR score.

01-14-08, 12:14 AM A Large creature can serve as a mount for a Medium creature.
A Large critter with a Strength of 17 can carry 172 lbs (light load), 346 lbs (medium load), and 520 lbs (heavy load).

If you treat the dire bat as a quadruped, it's load limits rise to 258 lbs (light), 519 lbs (medium) and 780 lbs (heavy). I know it's not a quadruped, but a lenient GM might allow it if they want you to have viable dire bat mount.

Who would say no to riding a bat the size of a tank? Your DM, more than likely, but it might be worth a try.
