Dire bear advancement? [Archive] - Wizards Community

08-28-03, 10:34 PM I've got a dire bear, but I need to know how it advances in levels. Does it's level of hit die go up as I level up? Somebody please explain how this works for me. Thank you.

08-28-03, 10:58 PM If you aquired it through the Leadership feat, it doesn't necessarily advance. If you got it through Animal Friendship using 3e rules, it also doesn't necessarily advance. If you got it as a 3.5 Druid's Animal Companion, then it advances via the animal monster type advancement rules according the table in the PHB.

08-29-03, 02:30 AM Well, unless you arent playing 3.5, it should say how it advances. Other than that, it doesnt, unless you use some spell in masters of the wild... it drains some xp but advances your animal companion a bit.
