so what do you think of the dire bear or dire polar, or do any of you think that dire animals should have more to them like maybe for some of the large dire animals awsome blow or snatch

If you want them to have those, given them the feats, provided they meet the requirements.

so do you think that the dire bear should have swollow hole for small creaters because it is large and in reality a full grown kodiak bear can put the top half of a person in its mouth so i think swollow hole is appropiate for it

Dire bears you say. Big. Strong. Eats fish and other tasty snacks. Especially adventurers. Neat monster, but doesn't really do much fun in combat, except "the grapple --> pin --> rip head off"-routine.

well i made i level 1 dire bear character rolled his stats and added the modifers and he was better then the dire bear in the MM1 but it was no longer animal it was magical beast because of the INT and for its feat at level one i gave it weapon focus (claws) and let me tell you most CR 5 monsters coundnt get out of the grapple so you just keep beating them to death. its a fun character for monster campains

A big heavy bruiser-type monster that is highly susceptible to charm monster, archery and druid magics. Parties without the mentioned tactics risk copping needless death(s).

yah that the only problem is that he has the wil of a guppy so i know that if i was doing a lord of rings campian hes not the one to give the ring to
