I got everything else down, but the base saves.

when i look at the other examples in the MM1 book, it looks like some of the fort saves are replaced with the animal's fort save (the were-tiger with +8) yet when i looked at the were-wolf it fort save is a 6 when the animal's score (the wolf) it a 5. So where did the plus one come from? I've read the pages and done the math with the Stats moderfiers but some things just don't add up. The book says add the base animal saves to the base creature saves but when i did that using one of the examples in the book, it didn't add up right.. What am I doing wrong, please help....

What are you applying the template to?

Some of the examples in the book seem to be added incorrectly in places. For lycanthropes, you just add the base creature and the base animal base saves together, and adjust them for the creatures changing ability scores in each form.
