Does anyone know where I could find stats for a dire-raven. And assuming no such thing exists (no surprise as I myself find the idea nonesensical) how I would go about making one.

Take Dire Bat.

Replace all instances of "Bat" with "Raven".

It's not statted up anywhere, but here's my take on it:

Dire Raven
Small Animal

Hit Dice: 1d8+2 (6 hp)
Initiative: +4
Speed: 20ft. (4 squares), fly 80ft. (average)
Armor Class: 16 (+1 size, +4 dex, +1 natural), touch 15, flat-footed 15
BAB/Grapple: +0/-4
Attack: Claw +5 melee (1d3)
Full Attack: 2 claws +5 melee (1d3) and bite +1 melee (1d4)
Space/Reach: 5ft./5ft.
Special Attacks: -
Special Qualities: Low-light vision, Mimicry
Saves: Fort +2, Ref +6, Will +2
Abilities: Str 10, Dex 19, Con 13, Int 2, Wis 14, Cha 11
Skills: Bluff +0 (+8 when mimicking), Listen +5, Spot +7
Feats: Alertness, Weapon Finesse (b)
Environment: Temperate Forests
Organization: Solitary of flock (5-10)
Challenge Rating: 1/3
Treasure: None
Alignment: Always Neutral
Advancement: 2–3 HD (Small); 4–6 HD (Medium)
Level Adjustment: -

COMBAT:

Mimicry (Ex): Dire Ravens are adept at mimicking sounds they've heard before. They can sometimes lead people astray by mimicking the sounds of a person in trouble. If someone hearing them fails their sense motive check (opposed by a +8 bluff check), they are fooled into thinking that the sound is coming from a real person or animal.

Another possibility would be to make a medium sized version. Otherwise you could play around with the small version here that I made up, or make your own.

You want ravens with blindsight?

Anyway. There is no such thing as a Dire Eagle -- we have Giant Eagles instead, which are intelligent LOTR types. Same goes for Owls. The raven should follow the same pattern; it's a magical beast instead of a dire animal.

Or you could apply the Dire template, which while not WotC, seems to be a fairly accurate way to accomplish it.

By the way there are dire eagles in RoS, because somebody at the Coast finally realized that rangers and druids might actually want large flying creatures as animal companions.

Anyway. Necromancer Games did the dire template in Tome of Horrors. You can find it on their website somewhere, it's OGL.

Dire ravens resembles oversized ravens with black feathers and glowing red eyes.
Domesticated dire ravens often learn the language of their masters.
Combat:
Dire ravens fight much like their lesser kin, but are far more aggressive.
Blinding Strike (Ex): A dire raven that scores a critical hit with it's bite attack permanently blinds their opponents. For the effects of blindness, see the DMG page 83. Wearing a helmet automatically protects against this attack.
Disease Resistance (Ex): A dire raven gets a +4 racial bonus on saves against diseases.
