| captianhowdy06-04-07, 02:31 AM | For everyone who ever wanted a "Dire" template, Silverthorne Games (3rd party) has one in thier Book of Templates: Basic. Its 3.5 and works as far as i can tell. Cheap too |
| cwslyclgh06-04-07, 02:35 AM | I have seen several dire templates out there, all of them "worked" based upon thier own internal logic, and could be used to create interesting critters, but none of them can produce the dire animals in the Monster Manual. |
| captianhowdy06-04-07, 02:41 AM | Thinking about it, and its probably been done before, but couldnt you figure out the basic formula for the "official" dire template by taking the stats from, say, a dire bear and subtracting the regular bear's? |
| cwslyclgh06-04-07, 02:43 AM | there is no "official dire template", each of the creatures was crafted individualy, with no standard of changes wrought (other then certain unilateral changes like all good saves). |
| captianhowdy06-04-07, 02:47 AM | ahh, I figured there must have been some reason i haven't seen anyone do what I said earlier. Thanks for the info and saving me time on working on such a thing XP |
