"Attach (Ex): A dire weasel that hits with its bite attack latches onto the opponent's body with its powerful jaws. An attached dire weasel loses its Dex bonus to AC and thus has an AC of 12."

Given it's lack of clarity, i suppose this was already discussed here. My question is, what is it's status? It is not grappling the victim, but it is linked to it. What happens when victim tries to move away, for example?

Attach (Ex): (...) An attached dire weasel can be struck with a weapon or grappled itself. To remove an attached dire weasel through grappling, the opponent must achieve a pin against the creature.
It really says it all. If you run around in circles, change into a bird and fly away or whatever, the weasel stays attached.

ThereŽs two means of removing it:
1) Kill it (it can be touched with a weapon).
2) Grapple and then pin it.

Yup, that's what i supposed, but there is one problem: Dire Weasel is medium. It might be hampering movement, even actively, by refusing to move along. Maybe count his weight as additional encumbrance? Or even use limitations to movement as when in grapple but wihout grapple check - meaning that victim could move half speed?

Dire weasels grow to be up to 10 feet long and can reach a weight of 700 pounds. I guess you have a point there, those might be hampering a LOT :)
An attached dire weasel can be struck with a weapon or grappled itself. According to the way this part is formulated IŽd say the attach special attack can be considered a form of grappling. In this light IŽd rule movement to function the same as under grappling:
Move: You can move half your speed (bringing all others engaged in the grapple with you) by winning an opposed grapple check. This requires a standard action, and you must beat all the other individual check results to move the grapple.
Note: You get a +4 bonus on your grapple check to move a pinned opponent, but only if no one else is involved in the grapple.
Seeing how removing the attached weasel takes two succesful grapplechecks (one to grapple, one to pin), taking 1 check to be able to move around doesnŽt seem too much.

Yup, i thought about something similar, moving half speed with or without grapple check. I just wondered if someone got this problem before or even got some rules for it. But that's all good as well, the rules aren't always precise.

Thanks for replying!
