It does say that you can hit an attached weasel with a weapon, but not that this will dislodge it. Are 'pinning' or killing it the only ways to detach it, or will just hitting it do? Dang druid ruining my dungeon, heh ;} |

Hitting it wont dislodge it, but it may detach if seriously injured (It has animal intellect and would still flee if severely injured, unless the description says otherwise.) |
| Orchomenos09-14-07, 09:24 AM | As he said, but that's up to the DM. A female Weasel defending her pups will probably fight to death. And there's still a chance that a common dire weasel will think "if I can drink just a little more blood, it should kill my foe..." |
| Dead_Weasel09-14-07, 04:09 PM | Although the only means of removing the weasel "by grappling" is to achieve a pin, other methods would be reasonable as houserules: Escape Artist checks or stunning the weasel come to mind. Once it is attached, the weasel's AC drops to 12 - and the creature it is attached to is not considered grappled. Even with max hp, the weasel ought to be an easy kill once it latches onto something, even though the Con damage ensures that its target will follow in its footsteps not long afterwards. |
