| DMK6904-03-04, 08:05 PM | The Disenchanter has Supernatural abilities that I am having an issue with: Disenchant - When a Magic Weapon hits this Disenchanter, it must make a DC20 Fort check or it loses a special ability. Drain Magic - If the Disenchanter hits an opponent with the tongue attack, it drains charges or a special ability. It also has another blurb in there that says that you can try to pry the item from the Disenchanter with a DC23 Strength Check. Here are the questions that come to mind.... 1. Does the Drain Magic take these abilities away permanently like the Disenchant ability or does it just 'drain' them for a certain period of time? It doesn't specify. I would assume that if you hit the monster and it drains it permanently, than it would be the same for the Disenchanters tongue attack??? So, my thoughts are that it is permanent, but the word 'drain' kind of throws me off. 2. I was thinking that you would make a DC20 Fort check to see if you avoid the tongue attack or the attack you inflicted on the Disenchanter, but it would seem that the weapon or item in question might also get the characters Will save if it fails the Fort Save? But of course, it is an item...so maybe not??? Then again, there are intelligent magic items??? Thoughts on these two questions would be greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance!! |
