| Pitiless_Interfector06-07-07, 04:56 PM | The Quasi-Deity template seems to be somewhat of a gyp. I was wondering if someone could give me a level adjustment for the following template: Quasi-Deity Size and Type: The creature's type changes to Outsider, and it gains the native and augmented subtypes. Size is unchanged. Speed: The quasi-deity's speed is dependent on its size, as given on the following table: Size Climb Burrow Swim Land (biped) Land (quadruped) Fly Fine 10 20 20 20 60 120 Diminutive 15 30 30 30 70 140 Tiny 20 40 40 40 80 160 Small 25 50 50 50 90 180 Medium 30 60 60 60 100 200 Large 40 80 80 80 120 240 Huge 50 100 100 100 140 280 Gargantuan 60 120 120 120 160 320 Colossal 70 140 140 140 180 360 Armor Class: A quasi-deity receives a deflection bonus to armor class equal to its Charisma bonus or +1, whichever is higher. Attacks: A quasi-deity gains a slam attack, dealing damage appropriate for its size, as a primary natural attack, if it doesn't have one already. Special Attacks: Domain Powers (Su/Sp): A quasi-deity chooses three cleric domains to represent its godly portfolio. A quasi-deity born of a mortal and a deity must choose from among the domains offered by the deity. A quasi-deity gains the granted powers of its domains, and uses them as a cleric of a level equal to the quasi-deity's Hit Dice. A quasi-deity gains the power to use their domain's spells as spell-like abilities at a caster level equal to its Hit Dice. It can use 1st and 2nd level spells at will, 3rd and 4th level spells 5 times per day, 5th and 6th level spells 3 times per day, 7th and 8th level spells 2 times per day, and 9th level spells 1 time per day. The save DCs are 10 + spell level + Charisma modifier Spell-Like Abilities (Sp): In addition to its domain-related abilities, quasi-deities all receive the following spell-like abilities (caster level equal to Hit Dice, saving throw DC 10 + spell level + Charisma modifier): At-will: dimension door (self plus 50 lbs. of objects only; does not lose an action), dream casting, sending (no limit on length of message), greater scrying (on any ally, or an enemy that speaks the quasi-deity's name or title in the last minute; includes sensory information from all 5 senses), scry location (anywhere the deity has set foot before, or where their name or title has been spoken in the last minute; includes sensory information from all 5 senses) 1/day: limited wish, greater plane shift (self plus 50 lbs of objects only) 1/year: wish, miracle Special Qualities: -A thousand faces (Su): As the druid class feature of the same name (effective caster level equal to 20 or Hit Dice, whichever is greater) Fear Aura: As the dread necromancer class feature of the same name. -True seeing (Su): Continuously active, as the spell (CL 20th or HD, whichever is greater) -Can speak, read, write, and otherwise understand all forms of communication, even nonverbal ones. -Fire resistance 5 -Spell resistance 32 (the quasi-deity may lower this as an immediate action) -Immunity to polymorphing (as a reaction, the deity may choose for an effect to ignore this immunity) -Immunity to mind-affecting effects (as a reaction, the quasi-deity may choose for an effect to ignore this immunity) -Immunity to energy drain, ability damage, and ability drain -Immunity to petrification -Immortal: Upon reaching adulthood, the quasi-deity gains the timeless body special quality (as the druid class feature of the same name). The quasi-deity has no maximum age and will never die of old age. Abilities: Str +10, Dex +10, Con +10, Int +10, Wis +10, Cha +10 -Favored Class: Gains favored soul as an additional favored class. (Need not worship another deity to advance in the class; gains proficiency and weapon feats with any simple or martial weapon of its choice, or can take the deity's favor alternative class feature instead) Level Adjustment: ??? |
| Thiez06-07-07, 05:33 PM | I'd limit the statbonuses stuff a bit. Give a nice bonus to Cha (that's important for them deities, and high Cha is cool), and some goodie on the Wis side, but chill out a bit on the rest (+4 to +6 are good enough, says I). |
| Pitiless_Interfector06-09-07, 12:25 AM | But what if they're one of them Kord love-kiddies? If he's half Str 55 and half Str 10, then he should be Str 32. Basically, this template has to be flexible enough to handle any kind of god. Maybe you could have a +10, +8, +8, +6, +6, +4, distributed as you please, but I prefer +10 all around. And nobody's given me a level adjustment yet. |
| sensestaker06-09-07, 12:45 AM | This one's hard, I've been giving it some thought. As for the abilities, I like the +10 all around-they are Gods, after all, demi- or not. LA, I'd have to go for +10-+2 for speed, slam, fear and deflection, +4 for abilities, +2 for spells and spell-like abilities, +2 for trueseeing, SR and immunities Head-to-head, this guy looks like he might very well lose to your other LA +10 creation, but I can't see it any lower. |
