| sir_argenon05-21-05, 02:11 PM | i am converting my campaign from 2nd ed, to 3.5 and i'm trying to familiarize myself with as many of the rules as i can. i noticed that i do not see a critical hit range for any monster that i have looked at. i imagine that i would use the crit range for a weapon that the monster is using, ie... a goblin using a shortsword would have a crit range of 19-20x2. but what about natural attacks...? slams, bites, claws, tail strikes etc.. do they only crit on a nat 20? |
| Kohdok05-21-05, 02:15 PM | Yes. If a crit stat is not offered, they crit on a natural 20 and do double damage. (Basically a normal crit) |
| sir_argenon05-21-05, 02:34 PM | thanks for the quick response Kohdok. thats what i thought, but i just wanted to verify with the experts :D |
| Derren S.05-21-05, 02:47 PM | Which is a shame. Different critical ranges/multipliers on natural attacks would make some monsters more interesting, but thats a topic WotC neglaces so far. Spontaneously I can only think fo the Tarrasque which has a higher crit range. |
