Does this mean the PCs have to roll a fortitude for each basilisk within range (<30ft) on the PCs activation? Other question: What about other monsters poisons... do poison effects stack if I get hit several times?
Wayward Son 11-07-05, 09:15 AM	No and yes. :D The gazes don't "stack", in that their effects aren't cumulative and you don't turn to stone several times over. However, each basilisk in range would still get its seperate gaze attack and the unfortunate target would still have to make all of those saves to avoid becoming a stony snack. On the first failed save, the target turns to stone and there's really no point in rolling the other saves, since the effect is accomplished. For poisons, however, yes, the effects are cumulative. It's not because the poison stacks with the previous poison, per se, but because each poison attack is a seperate attack on the targetted ability score. For poisons that don't damage abilities (like a pseudodragon's sleep poison), the effects would overlap, not stack, in terms of duration. The subject still has to make a seperate save against each application of the poison to avoid primary and secondary effects, so multiple applications improve the odds that the subject will fail.
