Yeah...that is a big one isn't it?

I know its spell-like abilities and stat adjustments and its 6d8 outsider HD...but what is its progression for low levels and its LA?

Well, I imagine its LA is probably pretty similar to a Drow with the Half-Fiend template. Minus one or two for the HD

I see, BTW do they get any racial skill bonuses?

I thought LA+4 and 6 HD sounded correct.

+4 with 6HD sounds about right.

Are you DMing this? If so, I would say to have your player play it like that, and if it seems drastically too weak, start giving free levels to it every couple sessions until it's about even. If it seems too strong, start making the player soak up extra levels of ECL before he can progress.

And normally, racial skill bonuses are listed somewhere in the monster description. I don't think it has any.

I actually don't have monsters of faerun...

I think its +12 str, +4 Dex, +4 Con, +2 Int
6d8 outsider HD
dancing lights, faerie fire, desecrate, unholy blight 1/day
Darkness 4/day
SR 11+HD+class levels
Light blindness
and resistances and such that half fiends get correct?

Note that the Web Enhancement to the Player's Guide to Faerun ,to adapt the monsters in the MoF book, lists the draegloth as LA-.

That doesn't make sense, since it's just a flavorful version of a drow half-fiend.

It definitely has an LA! I wouldn't allow a pure 6 HD in it and thats all!

Heres the progression I had in mind.

BAB HD Skills Fort Ref Will Abilities
1 +1 1d8 (8+Int)x4 +2 +2 +2 +2 Str, Feat, Outsider (Evil, Native) Claws : d3
Bite: d4, Dancing lights and faerie fire 1/day
2 +2 2d8 8+Int +3 +3 +3 +2 Dex, Resist poison +2
3 +2 2d8 -- +3 +3 +3 +2 Str, Claws: d4, bite: d6, SR 5+HD, Darkness 1/day
4 +3 3d8 8+Int +3 +3 +3 +2 Con, Feat, Resist poison +4, Smite Good, DR 2/magic
5 +3 3d8 -- +3 +3 +3 +2 Str, +1 Natural armor, Resistances 5
Desecrate 1/day, Darkvision 60 ft.
6 +4 4d8 8+Int +4 +4 +4 +2 Int , +10 speed, Darkness 2/day
7 +4 4d8 -- +4 +4 +4 +2 Str, +2 Dex, Darkvision 90 ft., Unholy Blight 1/day
8 +5 5d8 8+Int +4 +4 +4 +2 Con, Immune to Poison, DR 5/magic, Darkness 3/day

10+6/+1 6d8 8+Int +5 +5 +5 +2 Str, Feat, Darkvision 120 ft., Resistances: 10
Darkness 4/day

The Draegloth

The Draegloth begins with:

+2 Str, Draegloths are very muscular and become very powerful over time.
Medium size
Outsider with the Evil and native subtypes.
Base land speed of 30
Darkvision: 30 ft.
Natural claw and bite attacks
Spell-like abilities listed

Class skills for the Draegloth
Balance (Dex), Climb (Str), Concentration (Con), Hide (Dex), Jump (Str), Intimidate (Cha), Knowledge (Religion)(Int), Knowledge (The Planes)(Int), Listen (Wis), Move Silently (Dex), Spellcraft (Int), Spot (Wis), Survival (Wis)

Look good?

"LA: - " is wizards' way of saying it's not suitable for PCs, which is what I was arguing about. If it had no LA at all, it would be "LA:0"

That progression looks good. You might want to pick up Monsters of Faerun, though, to find out if their spell-like abilities progress when they advance, like a half-fiend's, and whatnot .

Revised to 10. Energy resistances were lowered in 3.5 because the energy resistance rules were changed to make more sense.

So I had it right the first time :D

It's very nice...I think Jeggred was the inspiration :P

Well I guess I'm resurrecting this thread :bump:. So far the stats for the progression above look great, but I think from a flavor standpoint that the claw damage should be more than listed in the book. 1d6 for a large creature that is drawn with hands for a huge creature just doesn't sound right :D. I'd say 1d8 or even 1d10, this is it's primary attack form and Jeggrid is very impressive in the novels I've read so far.

Going with their seemingly standard idea for claw damage by size, I'd say that it should be 1d6... Follows the same design as Half dragon does.. as does the bite of 1d8...

Wow...I unsubscribed to this thread...but still found it.

I think its a matter of how they deal damage. There is so many little razors in the jaw of the Draegloth, as opposed to the huge arms...They get full strength with their claws attacks though. So that might end up giving them the bonus anyway.

BTW: I have those stats correct, don't I?
