runestar 04-14-07, 09:08 AM	Awesome blow lets you send a smaller creature flying 10 ft away on a failed reflex save. Most huge monsters have an average of 15-ft reach. My question is if this will cause the creature in question to provoke an AoO for moving out of a square you threaten?:confused: Example - a titan threatens 15-ft around him. He moves up to 5ft away from a fighter and uses awesome blow to successfully push him 10 ft away. The fighter will be moving out of a square threatened by the titan. Will he still provoke an AoO this way? Thanks to all in advance for your help.:)
Stardust 04-14-07, 09:23 AM	Unless there's an official ruling on it somewhere, I'd probably rule that other threatening creatures get an Aoo, but not the one using Awesome Blow. Just because it makes so little sense to knock something flying back and then somehow hit it again as it's sliding away from you. Plus, it seems like part of the point of awesome blow is that it's used against melee tanks, so that when they're knocked back, they're forced to advance on you again in order to do damage, so the creature in question will be able to use Aoos as the attacker closes on it again, leaving its threatened squares in the process. Just my take on it.

Raukolinae 04-15-07, 02:27 AM	I woudl say no, because if all you do is move, you do not provoke. The person being knocked back is only moving.
runestar 04-15-07, 03:46 AM	You provoke an AoO for moving out of a threatened square. Though I agree that this seems to go against the idea of the feat. I will just drop the idea of having 2 monsters playing some sort of human pinball.:P
Raukolinae 04-15-07, 05:01 AM	Correction: As stated by the previosu poster, you do provoke. I was thinking of the withdrawal action, and its actually a lot more complicated than just moving without attacking. So yes, by the rules, you would provoke attacks from creatures whose threatened squares you move through.

I would say as a DM ruling (the next monster my characters are going up against has this feat) no, because the character is leaving the threatened space as the monster is attacking. I would also DM rule that a character/monster cannot make an AoO on its turn, though the rules do not say you can't, as mentioned previously.

Thanks!!!:cool: On another note, does anyone have any good combos to put this AoO to better use?
