It's at least 7 ft. tall, walks on its hind legs and has a jaw filled with teeth. It seems a bit tricky, and you wonder how normal people can trust to ride upon them. The Trechosaur is the most common riding beast in waterfall city. Faster than horses, and at least as strong as a warhorse, these beasts are bred to carry others. A Trechosaur stands around 6 ft. tall from foot to head, and has a long thin tail. It walks on its hindlegs, while keeping the front legs up, for support and grabbing. Combat In combat, Trechosaurs usually sees to surround its foes if they can and if they can't they chose to scather, using their speed to catch opponents off guard. Bah, while Im at it, can you please rate this to: Exotic weapon----Cost----Dmg (S)---Dmg (M)--Critical---Reach---Weight Two-handed melee weapons Durma------------90 gp---1d8------2d6--------x2--------10 ft.---15 lb Its a piercing weapon. Oh, it negates opponents their +2 bonus on attack rolls while charging. |
| ieattrollsforbreakfast01-07-05, 12:31 PM | Based on a scan through the animals section of the SRD, I'd go with CR 2 rather than 3. Although it has a high AC, I dont think it has enough offensive capability to warrant a 3. |
| DM Zoc01-07-05, 01:31 PM | I am inclined to say CR 3, because I know what a third level character can die to and this is easily it. As a side note: "Waterfall City"? Is this Dinotopia? |

Not exactly. Even though the city you mention is based upon Waterfall city (im reworking that name, trying to find something better) and have some liknesses, Im also working to make it more unique. Im posting the world later on and it already got some unique stuff in it, such as the gods, the history and the introduction of magic and elves ^^ No intelligent dinosaurs and... pom pom pom Veliciraptor like creatures you can ride on (see above...) Its an old dream of mine, having a raptors to ride on... and here it is, ready for some prestige classes ^^ |
| Ogre4Hire01-07-05, 03:16 PM | The damage on the bite should be 1D8+6, not 1D8+7, since it has an 18 Str (+4) and only 1 natural weapon (X1.5) and 4X1.5=6. And you should keep it a CR 3, not 2. |
| Gemstone01-08-05, 07:02 AM | Thank you very much ^^ Could you perhaps rate the weapon I posted above? Its designed against charging opponents |
| law01-08-05, 12:13 PM | Gemstone you should look into ebberon the halfings are doing what you said you always wanted (plus they can train other people to do it as well). You monster is border line on CR so it would look to me to be CR 2.5 so CR 3 it should be since it could whipe out a 2nd level char in short order. |
