If the AVERAGE character has "12" as an ability score, then multiple poison damage (1d6 str initial and secondary for example) from the same creature makes hit points seem pointless. I mean if you're getting poisoned every round then your not going to be standing for long. Especially if the poison damage is dexterity. Everytime you get hit with that poison you become easier to hit. You might as well say f the hitpoints and just play by ability scores when your fighting a monster with ability damaging poison. |

Poison save DCs are generally low enough that only low-fort-save classes have to worry about it. Throw a fighter or barbarian (especially if he's a dwarf) up there and you should be okay. Besides, you're in a group. The monster can only weaken one person a lot, or everybody a little bit, and while it's doing that, the rest of the party beats the crap out of it ... assuming it hit you in the first place, of course. |

I feel its well worth a 6th lv slot for the benefits it confers on the entire party. |

This is great until the Dex damage starts making it so easy for the party to hit there is no challenge. I wanna say hey once your poisoned your poisoned but I can't find that anywhere in the rules. I have found it relating to disease though. You can only get so diseased. Poison doesn't quite wok that way though, so at the same time I feel I should allow the dex damage to stack |
