Does one hit dice count as racial hit dice? [Archive] - Wizards Community

03-26-05, 07:34 PM I want to play a kitsune form "Creatures of Rokugan" and it has one hit dice (it's a fey, so it's got 1d6), and my question is, if I want to play it as a character, do I start with 1d6 as racial hit dice or do I start with a character class? It says it's advancement is by character class in the advancement entry. All of the creatures I've seen with racial hit dice had more than one, but I don't know what the rules are about that.

03-26-05, 07:43 PM If under the "advancement" section it says "by character class" and it only has one HD, your first HD from a class will replace the racial hit die.
