Hi, can anybody tell me if a Beholder can be dominated by being the subject of a dominate monster spell in case the caster wasn't within its antimagic cone and the spell was successful? Would the beholder's antimagic cone dispell it afterwards ie. in its next activation? Help!

yes the beholder could be dominated by a dominate monster spell, no the anti magic cone wouldn't automatically suppress it, since the beholder itself is outside of the cones area of effect (the cone starts at the beholder, but does not include it, if cones included thier creators in thier areas then any wizard that casts cone of cold is in for a world of hurt). however the way cones normally work you can fire it back through your own space, I am not sure I would allow a beholder to do so however, because of anatomical concerns (besides it would be a stop-gap measure at best anyway, since the cone of anti magic would not dispell the dominate effect it would simply supress it while the beholder was in the cone).

Yes you can dominate a beholder. Otherwise it'd be impossible for Hive Mothers and Overseers to keep control of a Hive.
