ok, here is a quickie

If a player chooses to play a doppelganger as a character (2nd level rogue) (6th level all together) how do the skill points work. the class states that the doppelganger has 2 monster levels and 2 + INT MOD * 7 skill points in adition to two racial feats. so does that character considered 4th level or 6th level for determining feats and ability increases and does the character get 4 feats (1 at 1st level, one at 4th level and 2 racial) or 3 feats, (2 racial feats + 1 at 4th level). also, does the character get (int 20) (2+5*7) = 49 racial skills and 8+5* level(2) = 26 skill points for being a 2nd level rogue or does he get 8+5 *4 = 52 skill points at 1st level and another 8+5 = 13 at 2nd level.

ok, in basic english. does the monster levels count before or after the class levels when determing feats and skills.

oh, also, if a Doppelganger gets 4d8 hp is that 2d8 per monster level? in other words, is con bonus added 2 times or 4 times?

Monster levels always count first. I'd say he was considered 4th character level, with an ECL of 6 (LA +2).

He'd get the skill points for the monster levels, the two racial feats, and at 3rd level (1st class level) he'd get 1 extra feat. So he'd get 3 feats, and then 49 racial skills and 26 class skills.

His con bonus is added to each HIT DICE, not level. So he'd get 6*Con bonus in extra hit points.

You are a bit off.

The Doppelganger has 4 racial hit dice, not 2, and a +4 level adjustment. If the Doppelganger character also has 2 Rogue levels, it will be a 10th level character altogether.

It gets a total of three feats; for its 1st, 3rd and 6th hit dice.

It gets 2+Int skill points x4 for the first racial hit die, and 2+Int skill points for each of the remaining three racial hit dice, for a total of (2+Int)*7 skill points. You add (8+Int)*2 skill points from the two Rogue levels.

Its hit points will be 4d8+2d6+Con*6.

Morwen is right, if you create or level up a character, then for anything other than starting gold and XP, just forget about the LA and just count HD with monster HD coming before class HD and get a feat for every third HD and skills for every HD with quadruple skills for the first HD (this is always the monster HD if you have one).
